Having pre-ordered this game a few weeks ago I had the priveldge to play this game the first day it came out. Once I start playing I couldn't put this one down until it was over. It took me almost a day that I have to call in sick just to see the end of this game. The gameplay is something out of the box and the graphics is like no other. If there's a pefect game ever made- I will definitely put this on top!

After such a long drought of no great games for the 360, this was definitely a thirst quencher. The atmosphere and set design of the game is outstanding. The game play itself is fantastic. Don't let any of that news about the widescreen FOV issue stop you. It's nothing. For a FPS it's a lot more than that. The way you can create new weapons and using plasmids like spells It's borderline RPG which helps crave that need as well (although I still can't wait for a good full RPG). This game is definitely worth the buy. The first of many exciting new titles coming out.

This game is my favorite game ever. Sure i beat it in 4 days but the only reason for that was that...i couldn't stop. Once you kill a big daddy you feel achieved and go berserk and get rid of everything else. in this game you WILL get sidetracked trying to see what you can do in every room. Then you'll spend time finding rooms for traps. The game says that no two gamers will ever play the same game...and it is telling the truth. Me and my friend have it and he tells what he did which is completely opposite from what i did in that sort of situation. This game is a definite buy. You may want to find some free days to play it so you won't be interupted...ha that was a joke...not really.

All the hype was right. This is an awesome game. and all the time and money they spent on water graphics certainly paid off. Just about every review I've seen compared this to Halo, saying that Bioshock was better. However I disagree in parts. Mainly that this isn't the same type of game as halo. This game is much more similar to F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) in it's atmosphere, occasional ghost sightings and overall goriness. Halo on the other hand focuses more on large scale battles in outdoor settings, not to mention including multiplayer into its programming.
This game includes many great complexities, and yet for anyone with a little experience playing first person shooters, or most any game for that matter, it really isn't hard to pick up on the subtleties. one of the most amazing/annoying qualities of the game is the ability to go back from any point in the game, to any previous point, and have everything sitting right where you left it. I say annoying because in certain areas, a vital item can be dropped into an area where it is inaccessable, then be lost for the rest of the game.
There is certainly a great use of MANY mad scientists throughout the game. Actually just about everyone in the whole game is a mad scientist. :-) but other than that, they go into the complexities of their madness through the use of tape recorders strategically left throughout the whole of Rapture, the underwater city in which the game takes place. Of course like any good scientist, these like to experiment, and once mad with power, and having lost their minds, their experiments had a tendency to go overboard. Leaving some very strange abominations throughout the city.
One of the main pillars of the story and the game is the use of Adam and Eve, which are solutions created by the scientists to enable the use of genetic manipulation. That genetic manipulation is taken to some interesting extremes with the use of Plasmids. things that allow people who inject them to gain special powers. I won't go into all of the powers because there are many. But suffice it to say that, normal weapons are only about half of what you use throughout the game.

This game is awesome. When i first got to play it through the demo, I was astonished by the graphics and gameplay. Then, when I got the full game, the story is just so immersive that you'll just be hooked to it. It's not like other FPS's out there with just a linear story. There's really meaning to it and twists and turns that make it enjoyable. The use of the powers and the role playing elements adds a nice touch to the game. You can also use the environment to your advantage. Puzzles are also nice and challenging at times. If you own a Xbox 360 or if you have the rig to run it on your PC, this is a must game to get. Only downside probably is that there is no multiplayer, but the single player is remarkable and memorable. It will make you replay it over and over again.

My brother rented this game for me to play (and now I am on my way to Best Buy to purchase it). I usually do not like shooter games (I prefer RPG games), but this first person shooter offers much more. You can move about freely (maybe not as much as an RPG but pretty close) and choose different paths throughout the storyline. The creatures in the game roam freely so if you come back to an area that you previously cleared, there are bound to be more creatures to fight again. The creatures are not wimpy and offer a challenge (especially Rosies and Big Daddy's) which keeps the game interesting. It is also great that you can "upgrade" your character much like an RPG as well (there are areas in the game where you can visit vending type machines and purchase upgrades to many different characteristics and add them to your "slots"). I do wish there were more slots though so you could use more of your attributes without having to run back to the gene machines to change them. Overall this is a great game, great graphics, great storyline, very imaginative creatures/people to interact with and kill. I would absolutely recommend this game.

Bioshock is another FPS, but it has the cool "out of this world" feel that Destroy all Humans had, just better. Shooting and killing the enemies is very realistic and rewarding, and the graphics make you want to look at everything twice. I am a couple of hours into the game, and I can't wait to see how my character will transform and what else will become available. The horror feel to the game does a good job at separating this from a shooter, every room brings something different and exciting to explore. This game is best played on a large tv with surround sound, you won't want to miss a single detail.
