Perfect DVI to VGA

Great for attaching your mac to a VGA source, such as an external monitor, LCD projector, etc.
Apple makes one with a short cable, and the cable shorts out in a couple of months. This one has no bendable parts, so no shorts. GREAT IDEA.
Note: this is a Male DVI to Female VGA adaptor. To use with a VGA source, you will need the Male/Male VGA cable that comes standard with all LCD projection systems.
What's great about it: Male DVI to female VGA. won't break.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Since DVI has so many variations they should provide more info on the product so customers can tell if it will fit their needs. Here's a pic hope this helps...

Good, but note the vga end is female

The product works, but it is important to know that the vga end is female and the dvi end is male.
What's great about it: Converts dvi to vga
What's not so great: the vga end is female, which means you need a male-male cord to connect the adapter to a laptop.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was concerned after reading a review about extra pins.... So I asked a Best Buy Associate:
The pins are desined to push into the device if there are any extra, so for those extra pins in the middle, don't worry and just connect to the device.
This worked perfectly, and the device works perfect.
What's great about it: Works as designed.

Price was right, plugged it in to the computer and plugged the monitor cable into the converter and it worked! What more can you ask for!

Why get a cable?

This is a great way to circumvent having to buy a more expensive cable for your PC, Projector, or what have you. Seems most video cards for PCs have DVI or HDMI outs on them while some monitors only have VGA. That's where this thing comes in. Most monitors come with a VGA Cable and this thing makes it so you don't have to get a new cable.
By The Way, DVI is just as good as HDMI visually. Its just that HDMI has the capability to transfer Video and Audio, while DVI only does Video. Its not a big deal seeing as most of the time you want sound going to a different place than your video.
example: for computers you want Audio to speakers and video to monitor. The exception would be if you want both to go from a computer through an Amplifier that splits audio to speakers and video to TV.

I got this to connect an old VGA monitor alongside my 24' DVI monitor to help productivity. I have a graphics card with two DVI slots. The product works fine, but the base on the DVI side is too wide, and rubs up against my primary monitor's DVI connection.
This makes it impossible to screw the adaptor into the DVI female, and I constantly lose the signal because I cant push it in all the way. Considering this product is used with computer hardware, where spacing can get very tight, I think it was a major oversight for Dynex to give this adaptor such a wide base.
My solution is to shave it down with a knife, but come on Dynex. Take these things into consideration.
What's great about it: Works
What's not so great: Base is too wide, may require some alteration for dual monitors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
