As other reviewers posted, I really liked this coffee maker until I broke the carafe while washing--didn't know my own strength apparently, the bottom popped right off. Now, 6 months later, it's collecting dust. If you are going to sell a product, at least have replacement parts easily available.

VERY BAD!!!

I bought this in mid-August, 2015 and guess what? It has stopped working already!!!! Extremely disappointed in the fact that I am seeing similar reviews and Black and Decker has done nothing about it. Unfortunately I don't have a receipt or I'd formally complain. Might have to be the last time Black and Decker gets any of my money!! SO WRONG THAT THEY CONTINUE TO SELL A BAD PRODUCT KNOWING IT'S BAD.....

Leaks

I bought this coffee maker 6 months ago. We originally were not happy with the coffee because there is not an option to add a filter. Our coffee contained very fine grounds and would leave rings on our mugs because it was "thick". This happened with different kinds of beans and we tried all the different grinding/strength options. NOW, after 6th month of putting up with this, the machine leaks about a cup of water each time we use it. AVOID this model. :(

No replacement carafe

I bought this coffee maker over 3 years ago and I use it daily, I just love it. Unfourtunately the carafe just broke and I feel very sad because I can't find a replacement carafe for this model. There's only 2 replacement carafe available in this site and I have read comments it does not fit this model. Is there a possibility a carafe for this model will be available in the near future? I live in Mexico btw.

Cannot find replacement carafe

I've had my Black + Decker CM5000B coffee maker about six months. While cleaning the carafe, somehow it cracked on the bottom and I am having a difficult time finding a replacement anywhere. The one on the website is not compatible, it's very upsetting. Please advise, thank you.

Flashing light

flashing light and no other response. Unplugged again, this time a little longer.. and still unresponsive to start..well, clock needs to be reset, that's not working either.. Nothing in the manual about flashing lights, unresponsive startup or clock setup, etc....very disappointed. Can you please help with this?

Still needs work

I have owned a couple of competing combination units for a number of years. This one is better in some ways and worse in others. It's easier to clean thanks to the combination grinder and filter, but because the permanent filter is mesh it allows fine pieces to pass through and form sludge at the bottom of the pot. Unlike the competition, the design doesn't allow the use of paper filters to alleviate this or to empty all of the grounds without rinsing. The pot has marking on only one side, making it less user-friendly to fill for left-handed users; its lid is hinged and tends to flop into the way when filling the reservoir. On the other hand, this unit is much quieter while grinding and the display is much easier to read, especially because it is backlit. There is a maximum of 2 hours before the unit will turn on, as opposed to 4 for the competitor's. I bought this unit because my old unit broke; this appears to have a more robust design. There is a feature to allow you to take a cup while coffee is brewing, but if you use it be quick -- there is also an overflow drain that uses the same opening and will start spewing coffee onto the hot plate in a few seconds. All in all this unit is on a par with other brands, but with some changes it could become the best.
