I have had this for 2 years and it works flawlessly, printing is fast and sharp, ink lasts and not too expensive, 2 sided printing works well, works well printing from my iPad, no complaints and the price was right.

Pitiful Disc Printing Utility
on July 13, 2017

I bought it for on-disc printing, to my old robotic disc printer. If you're hoping to print on any kind of discs with the iP7220, as it's advertised to do, be sure to buy a nice-sized hammer along with it. You'll want it for either bashing yourself on the forehead, or smashing the printer - depending on your philosophical leanings. When you manage to get it to work, the print quality is quite nice. When it doesn't want to cooperate, it's hammer time.

GOOD PRINTER

I bout this a year ago and I am happy, I print only photos from my digital camera . Of course I have edit software to edit the photos and printed like pro. The printer takes little more time to start because it cleans the head and the dry inks from previous printing, if the printer was off for a day or days

Extremely Unreliable Networking Functionality
on May 23, 2018

It's hard to set up for use over a LAN (and I'm an advanced user) and difficult to keep it functioning properly. Often it will simply be "offline" even after rebooting and connecting to the WiFi network. Also it does a terrible job of dealing with multiple users who each have their own print queue: If any person on the network still has a document in their print queue, it won't let anyone else print...extremely frustrating.

THE BEST OUT OF 4 OTHER BRAND PREVIOUS
on March 19, 2014

Good buy, good price, prints quality, litle noise but this is ok. all printers I owned priviously 4 of them, other brands was noisy, some litle more some less. But the price is excelent , what counts for me is the prints quaity. Also I use photo EDIT CANON software, and allways Canon Photo paper PRO PLATINUM and yes the CANON ink catriges PIXMA 251XL. XL because I save about $40% on prints lasting.
Pros: very sharp clear pictures
Cons: no cons

Product failure

The power supply failed on a May 2014 ip7220. I bought a new one late September or early October 2016, and this wrapped paper around rollers. Canon offers 24 hr service, but not tech service to get me up and running on a Saturday. Bad printer!

Rear Feed Needed!
on October 15, 2013
Posted by: Jill

This new model is extremely disappointing. My business relies completely on the rear feed feature, and this option was removed from this model! We exclusively use Cannon printers AND INK. However now, with this inconvenient removal of the rear feed, we will be forced to look elsewhere for printer and ink providers. Please reinstate this crucial feature for our company!
Cons: no rear feed

Good Inexpensive Printer

The Canon Pixma ip7220. This is a compact, well designed printer. The separate paper trays are easy to use, and the quality of the photos is excellent.
