Poor vent design

The vent guards don't stay up, due to a short tab. When I'm cooking a touch any of the buttons (to turn fan on/off, or light on/off) one of the covers will fall into where I am cooking. Irritating!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to Install

I ordered this unit online. There is a YouTube video that was a great help in completing the installation of the vent. However, the instructions were incomplete for venting the unit directly through the outside wall which was necessary in this two-story home. I had to call customer service to confirm that I was following a proper procedure. While the low fan setting is generally sufficient any setting on the fan greater than low is a bit loud. The down pointing lights are excellent.

I bought this hood it's nice don't listen to directions it calls for a 6 in hole for vent but it really is a 6 1/2 but went in the only thing I don't like is when on high it makes a high pitch sound and also it has halogen lights run hot

Beautiful product

I purchased this product in May for our new home - just installed it yesterday. It is stunning in our new kitchen; great power yet fairly quiet when on high. Used the lights on low as a night light. Lots of compliments from guests and the contractors still finishing up our new home.

I have had this range hood for nearly one year. It has great ventilation as well as lighting while being affordable. The fan is a bit loud on the high setting, but I rarely have to turn it to high. It adds a nice elegance to my kitchen and matches my GE cafe style range & refrigerator nicely.

Great looks and venting

Looks great and the venting is perfect for the amount of frying I do. I love that there is no monograms anywhere and the buttons are easily accessible.
The only negative is the installation, but our builder took care of it for us. Mounting the chimney section is incredible difficult and you need to make sure the height is correct or you will need to get the extension kit which still might not be enough.
I would recommend this to a friend!
