T5i STM is phenomenal and lightweight

Let me say for the record. The T5i is superb and simple to operate. The main feature i noticed off the bat was just how light the body was. No more neck cramps from the old school Rebels.
The touch screen options define the word optimal. A shot can be taken by lightly touching the screen. This new style of camera is sure to be hit, because of this feature.
The picture qualities retain elegance and poise.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Great all around camera.
Small / easy to carry when on vacation

I would highly recommend this camera to anyone.
I also have 2 other Canon dSLR cameras. My 40D is a great camera also but sometimes a little to heavy to carry and that is when I take this one along and know I'm going to get quality exposures.

This was my first DSLR (got the Video creator kit with the Rode microphone) with the purpose of using it for video. I used this for a short film in a 30 Day Film Challenge with the only lens I had at the time (18-55mm that came with it) and it worked great! We got 3rd place overall with 2nd and third places for cinematography and production design ... so I'd say it performed fabulous and got all the shots we needed. Since I've gotten a couple more lenses and the still images and video are looking great!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Finally bought the camera I've wanted for years. The camera is easy to use and takes unbelievable pictures! Some suggestions: view the introductory disc and read the very extensive manual that comes with the camera. I take a lot of pictures in Landscape mode and have found the different ambience modes easy to use and very helpful. I've experimented with all the different menus and find they are easy to understand. Already considering buying better lenses to really take advantage of all this camera can do! Novice or professional, this is a great camera to have.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, easy to use

Glad I Took the Plunge

I just purchased the Canon Rebel 5ti with the 18-135 kit lens. I bought it as part of a package which also included the 50-250 lens and a host of any accessories from an on-line company. Previously I have been using a point-in-shoot camera from another brand. I thought it was time to step up and get a camera that would take good shots and do video as well. As I'm into YouTube, I purposely bought the Rebel T5i because it had good reviews for video and the silent STI lenses. Another major reason for buying Canon was camera software. I previously had a bad experience downloading software for another manufacturer's camcorder. Canon includes all the necessary software. In fact, they even give software describing how to use the software. It can't get easier than that.
I would also encourage anyone buying this camera to purchase the 18-135 mm kit lens. I have seen a lot of buyer's remorse in reviews from people who purchased the 18-55 lens initially. They found themselves constantly changing lenses between the 18-55 and the 50-250.

Amazing Camera

I just got my camera three days ago and I am already so in love with it. It takes amazing pictures is perfect to capture special moments of my kids that are to quick for other cameras. The touch screen makes changing the settings a breeze. I highly recommend this camera and to buy directly from Canon.
