Amazing Picture

Picture quality is excellent, sharp, clear, bright, whites are white, blacks are black but viewable relative to texture and finish of what is being shown. There are multiple personal settings available for both picture and operation of the TV. Set up is easy. The only negative which I can't fault the TV for is I was not smart to buy the Smart TV model after looking at the cumbersome way web surfing is accomplished. With a Smart phone, PC and all the other gadgets available to me I could have saved the $500 difference. I do like being able to receive TV software updates with the TV Internet feature. During set up if you have internet access ability, LAN or Wireless you can select to update available new TV software and set it to automatically check on each start up. I did and it worked. All in all very pleased with the purchase. Would have rated 4.5 but had to give it a 4 as 4.5 was not available due to remote limitation and internet ease of use.
Pros: amazing picture, easy set up, love the personal settings for picture sound etc
Cons: cumberson internet browsing, no button on tv remote for stb/sat guide, remote will only work with a sharp av receiver

Glory

We named her Glory because glorious is the best description of this tv. Just purchased this giant on Monday. Planned to purchase another plasma but when we got to the store, the display model plasma was SOOO dark and going from a 58" to 65" didn't seem to make sense with this 70" beauty sitting beside the dark little plasma. We got her home and set up quickly. Only help we needed was removing the heavy plasma we were replacing. Set up went very well. We also purchased a home theater system. For the first time in six years, we only need one remote to operate our setup. We have direct tv genie and all of the systems work great together. The sharp recognizes when we put in a bluray DVD and switches over to the correct input. The picture was great out of the box, but I have been "tweaking" settings and the skin tones are gorgeous. I was afraid of leaving our plasma for led but this set is bright, sharp and beautiful. I hope the quality over time will prove to be as good as everything else. Who can't love a 70" tv!

A really useful TV

Like other reviewers said the Picture quality is excellent, sharp, clear, and bright. I actually downloaded a TV test program from the Web and tested the display. There is no dead pixel! From the TV functions, I can YouTube, Skype, and others should be good that I have not tried yet. I also set it up for the Wallpaper mode to make it like a big picture frame displaying my favorite scenic pictures. While the TV on the Wallpaper mode, the Skype is running at background. The Wallpaper mode consumes little power like the technical person said about $10 per month (about a 30 Watt light bulb). I use the TV to substitute my digital picture frame at home. The description of how to set it up the Wallpaper mode is viewable on line (by search Yahoo or other search engines) otherwise the manual does not say much of it. I spent a little of time to find out how to enter title for the input selections but their technical supporters are responsive very quickly. I found this TV has one little bug with the Freetalk webcam and Skype. They are fixing it and told me an immediate fix (temporary fix), don%u2019t set %u201cauto connect at Skype start up%u201d. So, I have to enter my Skype password every time while I use Skype. Hope they can fix this problem soon. All in all this TV had been a great success.
