Can not hold 10.10 Mac support driver. When is new driver support available for 10.11? I have IP address in the printer box to be able to print!

Good, reliable and inexpensive

I purchased this unit to replace a previous model that was destroyed by a lightning strike. High quality black and white printing, easy to use as light duty fax machine and copier.
Wireless connectivity works well with PCs and tablets. Relatively inexpensive high capacity cartridges help provide low cost per page. I have set the default print mode to draft which stretches the cartridges even further with fully acceptable print quality.
I have two minor complaints: 1. The automatic document feeder is not as reliable as the older unit and jams frequently. 2. I would prefer a straight paper path so the printer could accommodate thicker paper like card stock. I do recognize that a straight path would create a much larger printer so that improvement would be a detriment for others.
This all-in-one is similar to a quality Japanese sedan like a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. It does its job efficiently and without fuss. It's reliable and easy to use as well. However, it's a middle of the road device that lacks any kind of "coolness", so it won't impress your hipster or tech savvy friends
If you are looking for a simple, reliable B&W laser all in one with low purchase price and low cost per page, this unit is about ideal.

Still a dependable choice

I bought this because I've had two previous Brother multifunction laser printers, each of which lasted at least eight years and gave very good quality. I liked this model because it has wireless printing and scanning, does duplex printing, and is much smaller than my previous machines. Print quality on scans, copies, and printing are excellent. My only problem has been with the software for wireless use. Printing is no problem, but the main Brother menu doesn't work for scanning, and I have to use some other program that was evidently also on the CD they included in the box. Not only is this program not as intuitive as the old Brother software, but it took me forever to figure out that I had to use it because the instructions in the manual say I can use the Brother menu and commands (as I did with my old MFC). The only time those commands work is when your computer is connected to the printer. Luckily, I saved the cable from my previous machine. If you don't care about wireless scanning, you should really like this MFC.

Great scanner & printer; however:
Instructions for wifi connections with Apple Laptops were not clear. We had to call the Brother customer service line to resolve issues. The agent was very good and was able to resolve the issues.
However, it is suggested that your packaged instructions be updated and revised.

Great machine!

This printer connected quickly to my Mac and to my Wireless router. Easy to navigate display. I needed an economical alternative to replacing costly cartridges in my ink jet printer and this is just what the Dr. ordered. Could not be happier. No color, but that's not the purpose of this printer in my studio.
