Good things come in small packages

I have owned my Procinema 600 system for a little over a year now and it is serving me quite well.I am a live sound engineer, all around music lover and audiophile and to me the warmth, clarity and imaging are excellent. My only complaints are that the satellites are not terribly efficient, and require that I crank my receiver to get sufficient volume also the sub while tight, tuneful and accurate, also is not terribly efficient,i've really had to experiment to get decent level and extension from it, but this is not because it's a poorly designed sub, Every sub requires some experimentation regardless of design,etc..I chalk it up to the size of the driver and my room's acoustics. I will say on a positive note that my 15 year old 10" 100 watt sub which I used to supplement ,it gave up, (it blew during the opening credits of Transformers-Age Of Extinction trying to stay up with the prosub 600) , so I guess it's not that bad, I guess I just want that extra bit of extension and wall rattling air movement. I'm adding a second Prosub 600(found one cheap on ebay). Hopefully this will give me the result I am craving.Great system though. The person who keeps blowing subs is either abusing the sub by not setting and/or placing it correctly or the sub is possibly under matched for their room, try going with the procinema 800 or 1000 and if you are using a good surround receiver with either Audyssey, or MCACC speaker calibration, use it, it works very welland may solve your problem with improper level calibration and keep you from blowing subs due to improper setup and calibration. My Receiver (Pioneer Elite VSX-52)does all of my bass management so I haven't used the high pass on the sub.I may try it though. This system can and does perform quite wll when time is taken to properly set up and calibrate it. All of the other issues in the reviews i have read sound like errors due to improper setup and use.

GREAT SOUND FROM A SMALL PACKAGE

The set up was easy matched with Denon AVR-1200W. I spent weeks looking over and hearing other speakers from Polk TL350, Bose, and Klipsch Quintet. I have to say for a balance sound for movies and music this is the best you can get for a small area. Movies are crisp and clear the bass is herd and felt. All my friends and family were all super impressed at the sound from the speaker. The are constructed very well. I did have the Sub-woofer go out on me but that is no reason to lower the rating as nothing in this world is perfect. I contacted customer service and they are sending me out the piece to replace on the sub. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I bought this for an apartment I have an audio background listening to and using many brands for home and for professional use.

Happy New Year 2017!
Well, yesterday my Denon 2113CI died but the Definitive's (ProCinema600's) I got at the same time are still going strong. I added (2) of the larger 800's for the front speakers. Just a great sounding set of speakers. They also look pretty awesome. I hear a lot of complaints on the sub. It's a small unit, guys. I use it in tandem with a larger JBL. It sits right behind (in contact with) the main seating. I love it and have had zero problems with any of my Definitive gear.

Great Sound for Such Little Speakers.

We have had this system in our home theater since 2008. The system used to get used a lot at first, but then it would only be used occasionally. Ever since I have become kind of an audiophile, I have been using it more. Here is my full review on this speaker system.
Build Quality 9.5/10: The build quality of these speakers is very good. They feel very solid and have a good weight to them, which indicates a good quality magnet. However, the subwoofer does rattle some during loud scenes or music, so that is my reason for taking .5 rating off.
Sound: Okay, so we are going to be doing this in multiple parts. There will be 2 main sections. A movie section and a music section. Then, in each sections, I will be rating the sound based on the range. So here we go.
Movies 9.2:
Lows (Bass) 9/10: The subwoofer is an 8 inch passive radiator. We have a smaller room, so this subwoofer will definitely shake the room during explosions and other lfe scenes.
Mids (voices and vocals) 9.2/10: The voices in the movies sound very clear and warm.
Highs (treble) 9.3/10: The treble is very clear and bright.
Surround effect 9.5/10: Even though this is 5.1, it still sounds great. The surround sound is definitely noticeable
Music 9.1:
Lows (bass): Overall: 9.1 Punch: 9/10 Accuracy: 9.2/10
The lows and bass are very punchy and clean. This is only an 8 inch subwoofer, so if you have a larger room, you may not get much punch. This is a passive radiator sub, so it has decent punch while at the same time having good accuracy. The bass is pretty tight and accurate.
Mids 9/10: The mids are clear and clean. However, as with all small speakers, they aren't very warm, and sometimes during songs with lots of background in the beats, the vocals can kind of be quiet, but overall, they are still clean and clear no matter what.
Highs 9.2/10: The highs are very clear and bright. They aren't too bright or too muffled.
Overall Sound Rating: 9.2
Overall, the sound is very good. The bass is punch while still being accurate, and the mids and highs are very clear. I consider myself a beginner audiophile by the way. Considering these are 3.25 inch drivers, they are pretty impressive. These speakers do get really loud (like movie theater loud). In fact, it got so loud that it moved the speaker on the mount and loosened it. You might want to consider better mounts if you are going to be running these speakers really loud a lot.
Pros:
Great overall sound
Small
Great price
Cons:
Mids could be warmer, but that is with most small speakers
Subwoofer won't be punch enough for larger rooms.
Overall, I would definitely recommend these speakers to anyone who is looking for speakers in a small room who wants to watch movies and listen to music.

Great height speakers!

I bought these a few months back and I love the sound. I don't have the whole setup though. I purchased a pair of pro monitor 600's to use as height speakers with my definitive tech c1 center, b6bp fronts, and bp1.2x surrounds. If only you could hear this magnificent symphony of sound these speakers produce. As far as subs go, I'm using 2. A klipsch sub 10, and an energy esw 10.

I recently bought a set of ProCinema 600 home theater speakers/subwoofer and just finished watching the movie Blood Diamond. I must commend you all for creating an incredibly well constructed system at a fantastic value. Knowing that this is your lowest end speaker system is even more impressive. I've owned a bunch of speakers over the years including Boston Acoustics Mirage and Bose, and my ear is reasonably attuned to knowing good sound when I hear it. It took a couple of weeks to get the subwoofer tweaked just right for my ear

Good sound, but Subwoofer is defective!!

I purchased this system last Saturday and a week later I am on Subwoofer # 4. If the Subwoofer had not failed my rating would have been a 5 star review. When the system works the sound is outstanding. The retailer I purchased this from has been great and have replaced the Sub every time it has gone out over the week. If the 4th Subwoofer fails I will be taking the system back and trying something different. When the system works the sound is great, but with a Subwoofer that constantly fails it would be hard to say the system is reliable. Every Subwoofer that has failed has developed the dreaded red blinking lights, in fact the first one out of the box never worked just blinked red. It would seem to me that quality control is lacking as this seems to be a continuing problem. I have the Subwoofer hooked up to the preout on the head unit and the LFE on the Sub. It is plugged into an "expensive" surge protector. I even have a SPD device on my electrical panel so I am quite
positive that my electrical system is not the root cause. I really hope that the problems with the Subwoofer are corrected because the system could be a great one.

Good Speakers- but start to get poppy at high vol

I've had this system for about 10 months and overall I am happy with it. However, I primarily use it for music and sometimes I like to crank it up pretty loud. Once I get it up pretty loud I can hear a popping noise from the rear speakers. I have it paired with a Pioneer Elite VSX-43. I'm debating upgrading a few of the speakers unless their is something I can do to fix this. Also, I may be a little confused as to what the correct frequency I should have the sub at. I've messed around with it but I feel like it could be better. Overall the system is solid, I just feel like theirs a little missing and it may be on my end in terms of settings on the receiver/sub. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
