It lasts a long time

I bought this microwave three years ago and I still love it. It has wonderful features and is easy to use. The only downside is that the controls don't light up. But that's a small thing. I found LG to be a great company to deal with whenever I had questions.

Short Lifespan?

Purchased April 2016. Acting odd in late 2017 (popping the circuit breaker that has worked fine for 1 1/2 yrs). Beginning to die as of September 2020 (stops cooking in middle of task, but timer keeps running, and then resumes cooking). Internet search suggests magnetron failure. There is a 10 year warranty on the part, but labor to install it would cost more than a new unit. It worked well for the time that it worked, but 4 1/2 years is a mighty short lifespan for such an expensive appliance. The lack of a backlit control panel was a pain from the outset, but an acceptable trade-off for the size & power of the oven. I believe the next one will be another brand.

Nice but short lived

I bought 4 years ago and it just stopped in the middle of a high cycle. I unplugged it to recycle the electronics. Plugged it back in, the timer was counting down but the microwave didn’t start.
The number is hard to see unless there’s an overhead light. When it worked, it worked!

I never purchased this microwave

I never purchased this microwave and am not sure why I’m receiving an email to do a review. My original LG microwave had some kind of a little explosion and the turntable plate cracked in two and it cracked the bowl I was heating up chili in. I will say I reported this to LG and they were very quick to respond and were going to pay for a new one but I ended up buying a different brand.

Have had this microwave for 11 years, and we loved it!
Unfortunately, I left a bag of microwave popcorn, in it for 3 minutes. I got distracted and yes I had smoke, and bag on fire. Now my microwave is smelly and no amount of baking soda or white vinegar can save it. I am so 😔. And must day goodbye.
