shorted keyboard in 18 months

The microwave looks good and works well to evenly heat food. However, we have owned it for about 18 months and receive an error message that the keyboard shorted and we need to schedule service. It comes with a one year warranty so we are outside of the warranty and the repair is as expensive as purchasing a new microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not a long lasting microwave

We've had this microwave for a few years and it's cheaply made. The door window came out of place and slides around on the inside and the handle broke, probably because it's plastic. It has good features and cooks well, but it wasn't made great to last years and years. My in-law has a microwave the has lasted since the 80's and this one doesn't even last 3-4 years. Don't waste your money.

Didn't last ....

I bought this sometime in 2012 (manufactured in 2011). I bought this to replace a GE appliance and it fit in the space needed and matched the other appliances in the kitchen. I was pleased with it while it worked but it has stopped working. It barley lasted 6 years. My parents have one that has lasted almost 15 years. What is it with products today not being made to last. This is very disappointing.

Well worked well for 6 years, then fan went out 6 months ago and now will not warm anything. Tried the re set as advised but now after plugging back in the face is dark. Our original in the house lasted 15 years, sad and not what I would expect from GE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice microwave but have been having some problems and don't know exactly where the issue lies. Everything works but it won't cook. So still examining that to see if it is our problem or the microwave's. Haven't been able to use it most of the summer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old GE died (after 12 1/2 years) so stuck with the brand because I thought it might be as good. Bought in a hurry so didn't pay attention or notice the wattage but it must be WAY less than my old one because things take twice as long to heat. It was the only GE model that all my local stores carried so I assumed it would be a good one. It also sounds "tinny" or cheap when starting up.

Rating it even lower than before. Extremely loud. Lasted only 15 months. Poor quality.
