[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Microwave oven has a shelf that we haven't had yet, so now we can cook several items at one time. We like this feature. All the other features are likewise very handy and lets us have several options to do our food preparations. We will definitely enjoy the many uses of our new Microwave oven.

Great Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great looking and easy to use. Fan is very loud, will be calling GE while it is under warrantee . This is our second one in the house in 5 months as there was a paint defect inside the microwave. GE replaced it no problems.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 1st GE microwave replaced the one that came with the house. I had this for about 4 years. I had to replace it with another GE microwave ( same model) because all my other kitchen appliance is stainless steel. My old GE microwave is a workhorse, we use it everyday, it's on for a total of about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Fatal door design flaw

I've had this microwave since 2009--it was included with the house I bought.
Well, tonight I discovered how incredibly stupid the door design is. The outer door is glass, and one edge of it--closest to the control panel--is completely exposed, with nothing to protect it. Tonight, I managed in my clumsiness to bump a small dish against that edge. It wasn't even hard. But the glass shattered completely and utterly.
I will never buy a microwave without a frame around ALL sides of the glass after this experience. It's an incredibly dumb design and a safety hazard. I am lucky I didn't get cut--yet. I am still looking for all the little pieces of glass that flew around the room.
In sum: Yeah, it would be a great microwave...if it wasn't prone to a completely shattered door thanks to a really dumb design decision.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
