I bought this Microsoft controller to play games on my laptop. I use Windows 8 and I was extremely impressed how it synced automatically with my pc. It worked perfectly without any additional downloads.
I use it to play games purchased from Steam and once again, everything syncs perfectly. I highly recommend it, this controller does not require any additional software or downloads, it works great straight out of the box. I recommend the wired version of the xbox controller.
