I did not have a problem connecting and the receiver is about 12 feet away. I did however have a problem with the sound lag but was able to adjust that. The setup was a snap. My only knock is the length of the speaker cables provided. They are about 2 feet long, not nearly long enough. No problems with interference, my wireless router is near by. Sound quality is good for a wireless setup, it will no be the same as a hard wire connection. Overall it's a great solution if you don't want to have wires all over your great room. Other than that I thought the price was a little steep.
What's great about it: Easy to connect. No interference either. Good range. Good sound quality.
What's not so great: The cables provided are way too short. A little pricy.

First of all, I AM a Best Buy fan. They do a good job and I shop at Best Buy.
The product is super easy to set up. Volume control balances speakers nicely, however this system is the Japanese Fighting Fish of 2.4 G wireless bandwidth. It will fight your Linksys router to the death. Your wireless network will fail after three minutes. Turn off the transmitter and your wireless network shall return.
Powering down the wireless speaker adapter and then powering them back up will not solve the problem for more than three minutes. They seem to have veto powers over wireless routers.
Remember in Highlander where the quote is, "There can be only ONE!" Same thing. You either get your computer wireless network OR your wireless speakers, BUT not both.
I suggest you run wires.
Seriously.
Our President said, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, don't get fooled again."
I feel equally silly.
Are you still reading this? You have the information you need.
Run wires.
Am I still typing? I am.
I am typing in a pool of my own shame.
Are you reading this on a home wireless network? Well kiss that goodbye if you purchase this product you are researching.
I am not being spiteful here. I'm just really disappointed.
Good luck and live with your choice. I did. YOU don't have to.
What's great about it: Good solution for existing speakers, easy to set up.
What's not so great: This systems kills your wireless home computer network.

Periodic "pops" in the rear speakers. These are very loud sometimes and I am concerned about speaker damage. It is now disconnected and I have to figure out how to return it <sigh>.
What's great about it: Great concept and ok price
What's not so great: If it doesn't work properly...

Purchased the kit, it was simple to set up. Red lights immediately went solid so communication should be established. No sound. Returned the product thinking it was defective. New kit, same story. Checked every possible wire connection, even changed out to different wires. Found the customer support line, after having to supply personal information, they told me if the red lights are solid, the product is working, end of story. I should take it back to Best Buy is their response. Too much time has been wasted already, it is being returned for good and I am out the $10 shipping and handling I paid.

This kit works really good for the price and is very easy to put together. Although this allows you to place your rear speakers far from the rest of your home theater sytem without running any wires in between, you still have to run the wires between the rear speakers and the receiver unit of this kit, not to mention the power cable. The speakers have to be close to the receiver in order not to have as much wires showing. In the ideal setting, it doesn't look that bad (i.e. have the rear speakers behind your couch. The receiver, in between both speakers, on a table or underneath your couch so you can run the cables underneath). You'll have to figure it out but make sure you have a clear idea of how this will look in your place before purchasing. Really good product otherwise.
What's great about it: Sound quality, allows for good distance between sender and receiver, fair price

I hooked this up with my Sony Bravia 2300 Home Theatre system. The Sony rear surround speaker wires come with special connectors to plug into the receiver, so I couldn't use the wires that came with the Rocketfish. I called Best Buy and they explained the simple set up to me. I cut the Sony wires in half and connected the half with the connectors from the receiver to the Rocketfish sender unit. Then I connected the other half from the speakers to the Rocketfish receiver unit. The hardest part was removing the 3/4 inch of plastic to expose the wire ends without cutting the wires (my tool was a kitchen knife). I turned everything on and it worked like a charm! The sound is great. I have the receiver unit right next to a cordless phone unit and there is NO interference whatsoever. I was able to get the home theatre system that I wanted even though it didn't come with wireless rear. Rocketfish was the perfect solution.

First of all for those who have previously reviewed.
There's Wireless Speakers AND then there's wireless speaker "kit"
This one is a wireless speaker kit ...
If you are looking for complete freedom from wires .. there's no such thing by the way..
IMHO This product rocks... I am very sensitive to distortion and whats called noise.. and this product did not disappoint me at all !!!!
I have some real expensive home theater setup and I moved into a new home. I really didnt want to run any wires to the back of my living room which would look real ugly...This product has helped me achieve the freedom from those long running wires from my receiver to my rear surrounds.
There is no loss of quality or sound ...
Here's what I did.. I connected this to my rear speakers and only kept my rear surrounds connected and disconnected the front speakers, and my sub so I could only hear the rear surrounds. Then I played some surround content (any good dvd has surrounds)..
Voila these played without distortion.. While playing music I made some phone calls from my cordless and also turned on the microwave to see if there is any distortion and I could not feel any...
I also hid this behind my sofa and still worked without issues... although the receiver / transmitter should have clear line of sight ...
The only thing lacks is the remote.. I need to keep the receiver and transmitter on forever.. and cannot turn on / off remotely.. but this does not take that much power...

I used this wireless kit to hook up two yamaha outdoor speakers in my pool area which is connected to my living area. Worked wonderful after i figured out I needed an almost straight clear signal, so I set the receiving unit and sending unit up on a higher level to transmit clearer. Worked perfect expect the mirrored glass on my sliding doors kinda reflected signal SOMETIMES. Not always. Worked great unless there was a lot of movement through door signaling through. STILL EXCELLENT PRODUCT! Perfect for surround sound systems. NEGATIVES: -Standing in front of unit canceled out signal (Obviously since your blocking signal) -RF can't transmit very well. -Units have to be aligned almost perfect. (Like my automatic garage door. Which won't shut up because I can't get the floor transmitters aligned perfect BEEP...BEEP...BEEP! LOL!!! POSITIVES: -Sound quality is amazing! 10/10. Only cut out when I emitted too much power to the receiving unit. Seeing as my receiver can push more power than the receiving unit. -GREAT price! -Worked better than I expected through glass surfaces especially mirrored surfaces! PLUS: - LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FUTURE IN WIRELESS SPEAKERS.
What's great about it: Easy set up just like any wireless remote connect and sync.
