I wanted to add surrounds without the hassle or expense of custom wiring, so I bought one and liked it a lot. You don't listen as critically to surrounds, so ignore specs. They get loud enough and there's no hiss. Last week, I bought a second one to bring my system to 7.2 -- huge difference! I recommend this a lot. Only downside, volume control doesn't go to silent.

It was very easy to set up. It came with everything I needed to set up in 15 minutes or so. I connected the transmitter directly to my home theater and the receiver to an outlet and rear speakers 20 ft or so away. Despite a bookshelf and a couch being between the receiver and the transmitter, there was no impact to the audio. Overall, a great product!
