Rocketfish Works Kinda

I purchased the Rocketfish along with a 5 piece Klipsch speaker system. The rocketfish needs to be manually turned on/off in the front every time you want to use the system otherwise the speakers will hum when the receiver is turned off. I found too much hum in general. I returned the unit. Best Buy refunded my money with no problems!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Because of the way our home was built, this makes it possible to have a great surround system without all of the wires running around the room.

Great product that does what it claims

We have an 18 month old and rent, and so I needed something that could reduce the amount of cable i needed, and would help keep it out of the way. This was the answer I needed. The power cord is hidden behind a book case, and the rear unit sits on top of the book case. The rear speakers are wall mounted and the cables are run to it along the back wall, with everything well well out of reach.
We do get an occasional speaker pop, I'm not quite sure what causes it, but in the end it really really doesn't bother me. I'd be happier if it didn't happen, but am glad to have a system that is clean and well out of reach.
I'd recommend it for anyone who doesn't want long rear speaker wires, that can't afford some of the more expensive systems that do the same. Great price for what it does. I've recommended it to all my friends with children and medium to large living rooms.
What's great about it: Does exactly what it says it will.
What's not so great: I'm getting the sound pop too occasionally. But, it's really not that big a deal personally.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy mostly wireless set up

This product was very easy to set up. I did not want to drill holes in my floor to run the wires under my house or have them exposed so my 5 year old would disturb them. There are wires that run from the unit to the speakers but they are easy to conceal behind the couch.
There is an independent volume knob on the receiver that allows you to customize the rear speakers. I needed to turn up up 3/4 of the way to get a good balance from the front. I thought this was a great feature.
What's great about it: Easy to set up.
What's not so great: Can lose connection easily
I would recommend this to a friend!

Met my specific needs of sound in another room

I needed sound in another room through a wall, no line of sight. Sender is in another room but both units are directly across the wall from each other. No traffic area between the two. Happen have good speakers. Hooked up some cheap ones at first, bad sound quality. Once I connected to decent speakers, very pleased with what I got. Like being able to control the volume away from the receiver but if the volume was remote I could totally hide the receiving unit. Not a big issue, just would have been a value-add. Very pleased with the system.
What's great about it: Super easy to connect. Real good sound
What's not so great: Because there's a manual volume knob, can't hide the receiving unit. You have to get to it to control
