I purchased this item to connect the rear speakers of my 5.1 Pioneer surround sound. The first item was faulty, I returned it, got another and had the same problem. The issue with both units was that only one rear channel would work at a time. For example the left speaker would work and not the right. So I would swap the wires on the receiver and then the right would work and not the left. So I knew the speakers were working correctly. Then I tried swapping the wires on the transmitter and the same issue. Finally I tried a front speaker hard-wired to the stereo thinking that maybe just one of the outputs of the stereo was bad; but the front speaker still worked. So that eliminated the issue being with the stereo. The only thing that remained was a faulty wireless system.
Very disappointed with the product. Highly do not recommend wasting your time trying this. Not sure how satisfied I would be if it would've worked - but done trying. Worst experience with a product from Best Buy ever - and I have many products from Best Buy!

Rocketfish bills this unit as a wireless rear channel speaker system where in reality it is much more than that. I was looking for something other than a Bluetooth system to get music remotely to my pool area and this unit can be used to mount speakers remotely anywhere around the home. I brought the signal in from my satellite receiver using its music channels to a stereo amp/receiver on the "AUX" channel then connected the Rocketfish sending unit to the "B" speaker terminals. I then took the Rocketfish receiver & Bose speakers up stairs on my balcony & mounted them so that they would play over my pool area. The result was amazing: great sound quality w/plenty of volume. The only thing is at the end of the pool session the receiver & speakers must be stored in a dry location, which is a small thing for all of the benefits derived.
What's great about it: W/ any stereo wiring experience it is easy to set up.
What's not so great: Nothing that I can think off their than its not weather proof.

Tried to put two of them in my attic for four wireless speakers (two on each). They wouldn't sync up. Had to use one and run two wires into each channel. It still makes lots of popping noises. This was done by a professional installer and he says this is the best he could do with them. Really not worth the money.
What's great about it: good price
What's not so great: Can't put two of them next to each other or they won't sync up. A lot of popping sounds.

I bought this to avoid the ugly wires across my loft for the surround sound. The associate told me it was a good item. I got it all set up and it never worked. Also if you do get it to work you still have wires coming from the back port to the speakers. So even though you get rid of the wires from front to back, you still have the wires that go out to the speakers.

The speaker wire spring clamps would not hold in the speaker wires. The wires kept slipping out, and there is no way to tighten in place. I gave up the fight after several of the spring clamps popped out while inserting the wires. I returned the device and ended up running wires along the floor.

Started knocking after ten months. Thought it was speaker. Troubleshoot by geek squad at house identified this product. Just over one year at time real problem identified. Best buy refused to honor warrantee. Piece of junk - not worth the money.
