I would never buy these if I were you. Go with a $200 setup from a German company. Search the web for wireless speaker kit and you will find them. Mine did not work. Unfortunately, Best Buy gave these to me for compensation on another item. So I could not even get the money back. In the trash they went... Only time they seemed to do what they were for...

Third time NOT a charm

Third one in less than a year is going back for a refund. The SLIGHTEST static charge (I was dusting) fries the receiver unit. You can even smell it!
Sad thing is, the unit was turned off while dusting and when turned back on..POOF!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just got this home and hooked it up. Trying to get sound to my home speaker system from my bonus room tuner to the hookups in a closet. The units are literally less than 10' apart through a standard hollow sheetrock wall and the sound is intermittent if it is there at all. I'm not sure how they work with line of site but I wouldn't bet on anything close to 100 feet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought these to go with my Sony surround system, the setup was easy, but in the end, they did not work. You need a power source at the receiver and at the back of the room. The concept, in theory, is great, in reality, it is not worth the hassle to hide an additional box and you still need wires from the wireless box to the speakers.

I gave this one star only because giving it ZERO stars wasn't possible. Any decent level of bass will cause the receiver to shut off automatically.
Unfortunately for me, I was lazy at setting this up because I bought it before I moved and went over the return policy limit (my own fault obviously). If you have super sensitive hearing (dog like), maybe this could work, but if you want to watch a movie or listen to music and there is even a little bass, this will automatically shut off.
I do blame Best Buy for the product failure however because the sales guy recommended the product to me.....which shows poor knowledge of their products.
What's great about it: It's wireless
What's not so great: It's useless
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Tried for over 3 hours trying to get receiver to sync with transmitter. instructions are vague, and not very helpful.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Never would sync
