As the review summary says, don't waste your money on this product. This is a great idea in theory, but it fails to perform. Your speakers will pop or crack similar to the sound of a blown speaker. Don't worry though since it isn't your speakers that are the problem. As many others have stated this is a common issue, one I have as well with this product. The cracking/popping will occur regardless of how you connect the speakers. I've tried everything short of returning the product. Swapping speaker wire, removing possible powered items away from the unit/speakers, removing electronics from near unit/speakers, adjusting the volume on the unit and NOTHING has stopped the popping/cracking. This was a great idea as an alternative to running wire under carpet and/or behind walls. But the product simply does not perform. If you can deal with the popping/cracking then by all means purchase this item. But be warned if you use it in a 5.1 surround setting you are going to have popping/cracking.

I bought this product along with a Yamaha RX-V661BL receiver from Best Buy. A configuration recommended on BestBuy.com. Without the Rocketfish unit, all speakers including the rear ones in the the surround system worked just fine. With the Rocketfish unit hooked up, the Rocketfish transmitter and the Yamaha receiver would shut off every time sound was sent to the rear speakers. I exchanged the original Rocketfish unit for a new one at Best Buy (no problem, Best Buy was very helpful) and the new unit has the exact same problem. Rocketfish technical support was totally useless. I give up. I am going to get a refund at Best Buy tonight.
What's great about it: Doesn't explode when you plug it in

Set up was not difficult and I was pleasantly surprised that despite all the 2.4 Ghz frequencies in the house, the receiver doesn't seem to get a whole lot of noise. I was reluctant at first given the band and thought that the 5.8 band would be better but this works for a fairly reasonable price. If I change my setup, I don't lose wireless transmission as opposed to built in wireless HTIBs.

I got this after much debate on whether or not I wanted to run the wires from my receiver along the wall to rear speakers, since that's not really hard to do, or go w/ a wireless set up to avoid having to do any "real" work. After Christmas I got this w/ my Best Buy gift cards and haven't been sorry. Up until this point I was running all 5 of my speakers from the entertainment stand - not true surround sound at all - but after setting this up we are now IN the movies, TV shows, and even Football stadiums and we love it. I don't know what the main difference between this system, seemingly an older model, and Rocketfish's new "HD Audio" system - but this works just FINE for my 5.1 setup from a Onkyo A/V receiver.
What's great about it: Easy to set up, does what it needs to do w/o a lot of configuring
What's not so great: To me, price is a bit high. Also sucks to have to plug in the rear unit

Great solution for not running wires from the amplifier to the back location. Of course, there are wires from the receiver to the speakers, but generally this is a much smaller issue. This was EXACTLY the solution I was looking for, and it came at a reasonable price. Performance has been excellent - sound is criisp and clear. There's some propagation delay - but the manual explains how to adjust the device to compensate for your application. You're not going to power a dance hall with these, but they're very adequate for home applications
What's great about it: Easy to setup, great sound
What's not so great: You must physically turn on the power on the remote unit after a power failure. Very inconvenient.

Just installed a second Rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit in our bedroom and honestly this might be one of the most useful products out there today. Works great with Hoem Theater ina box systems or systems comprised of individual components.
What's great about it: Great price and a perfect way to create a home theater setting on a budget...Sound qulaity is excellent

Was very simple to set up. Liked the fact that it had volume controls on the receiver. The sound is good coming from the speakers its connected to. I'd recommend this product to people who don't like cluttered wires.
What's great about it: It was easy to set up easy to use. liked the fact it had soud controls on the receiver
What's not so great: price was a lil high once in a while it makes a popping sound
