Best present to myself
on January 21, 2018

I bought this for myself for Christmas to scan 7 boxes of photos, family, business, cars, friends and black and white photos of my mothers from the 1940's. So far the current photos are scanning quite nicely after I figured out how to use the software that came with the Epson V370. Not sure about the software for those old photos I think I might need a more suffocated software for those older photos but until I get done with all the other more recent ones, its just working out great. Any suggestions for a more suffocated software for those older photos would be greatly appreciated.

The software loaded on Windows 10, flawlessly. I pluged in the power and USB cables and was instantly making scans of photos and negatives. A great product that should not be passed by if you need a scanner.

Practically unusable with Windows 10

I used to love this scanner. I've had it for 4+ years with no problems. Now that I've upgraded to Windows 10 and installed the new drivers, the software barely works. It takes forever to load, to scan, and if I try to change any settings in the scan or preview dialogue windows it usually crashes completely. I've tried every solution I found online, including ones that weren't for this problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled so many times I lost count. All I can conclude is that the driver is bad. I really hope they aren't doing this on purpose to force us to buy new products... The hardware is in great shape, it would be a shame to have to get a new scanner but it's practically unusable as is... if they don't come out with a better driver, I will not be buying Epson in the future.

Great Image quality

I bought this scanner to archive old images. It does a fantastic job and the image quality is excellent. I turned a wallet size image into an 8x10 and it's perfect. Like most high resolution scanners in this price range it's not extremely fast. And the scanning software provided is OK, but not perfect for my application. If I did it over, I would buy the next version up with Digital ice technology. Have always been happy with my Epson products.

Does negative scans

I bought this primarily to doe scans on negatives and slides. I does 35mm and 35mm slides, I just wish it had an adapter to do old 110 instamatic film as well as my folks have a lot of that. I am going to try to make an adapter myself. The film scans are great but the photo scans are a little off as the lid does not seem to keep good pressure on the photo to get a nice flat scan. My Epson 730 all in one does a better job with the photos because the lid has some mass to it.Overall though I do like the scanner and has accomplished what I purchased it to do up to this point. I have scanned over 1100 negatives and photos. It is much faster than my 730, no warm up time.

I purchased this some time ago (years maybe) and it has done a great job. I purchased it specifically to scan thousands of old negative and slides, both color and black and whit. It has done a great job, if I had to do it again I would buy the same scanner.

Great quality for the price, quiet and fast operation and interfaces nicely with Photoshop Elements. Scan quality is very good.
