The Epson Perfection V370 color phot scanner with 4800 dpi technology has many built in leading technology features at a very reasonable price. very worth looking at for consideration at these times.

Been using Epson scanners since scanners were invented for home and business use. Nothing else comes close. This was purchased to test out the LED light source and to see how the colors of different types of paint reflect with LEDs as opposed to fluorescents. So far so good.
The only thing I didn't realize was that the transparency adapter was not like their pas units. It only has a very small light source in the lid. I'm used to the ability to scan film or transparencies (like X-Rays) on the flatbed if necessary. But no biggie. We don't often scan film.

Firmware and/or software issues with this product

Various selection(s) that should be active on Epson Perfection V370 Photo Scanner Model # J232D are grayed out when they should not be grayed out. Sometimes navigating to a different mode and navigating back to the original mode or desired mode enables the inactive selection(s) to be active. This is very annoying. Maybe this product needs firmware or software updates? Epson support, please feel free to contact me to resolve these issues.
Documentation on this product has been insufficient for learning to use this product. It takes a while to figure out how to navigate the selections and make grayed out options available. This product can take good scans when you happen to figure out how to configure the options.
I am hoping that there are software updates to this product that will improve its functionality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I tried for an hour to scan some 35 mm films and was not successful. I tried to download the instructions and all I got was an uzip file.
I have never had a product that was so obtuse to try to get to operate. I am going to invest another hour on slides and pictures and if unsuccessful, I will return the product.
I have never purchased a product that was so difficult to try to make work.
Please do better on your other product. This one, without instructions is impossible to make work.

I thought this scanner would be as good as other epson products it might be; but withought a user guide it iss useless;
they have auser guide that can be downloader on up, vista amd 7; but there is not one for windows 8.1 that I can get on my computer

I bought this to replace an HP scanner that worked fine under WXP, but wouldn't function under W7 (no driver available). When I installed it MS Office 365 stopped working. Turns out the ABBYY software conflicts with 365. Removed ABBY & office works fine. Other software with scanner is NOT user friendly; takes multiple steps to get a preview of different scans. Picture scans are fine, but again, multiple steps needed. Wouldn't buy again. When office stopped working, I finally reformatted HD and reinstalled everything. Really aggravating process.
