Great Scanner

I have thousands of old negatives that date from the 1930's to the 1950's. It's impossible to scan them using the slide and negative holder, however I find that by putting the negative length ways on the left side of the scanner gives very good results. I then take the scan in Photo Shop and invert it and enhance it.

I bought this scanner so I could save my 1000s of photo negatives. It works beautifully!!! It's not super fast but I would rather have quality over quantity. You can also scan multiple photos at once and if you put another space in between each photo, it saves them all as separate images. Awesome product!

Just what I needed

I was able to set it up and use it very quickly. I paid attention to the reviews on this site about the software and installed via the enclosed CD then went to the website for updates. No problems encountered.
For my first photos I used the "Full Auto Mode" which is the default. Able to scan several photos at once and, as long as they are separate with blank areas around them, the machine creates a separate file for each photo! This was great for several scrapbooks with photos pasted in. Then I switched to "Professional Mode" to get higher resolution, which worked well but so far I have to do each photo separately. I use the 'photo gallery' editing program that came with Windows 7 and it works fine for cropping and so on. I set up a file folder to store all scanned photos in 'my pictures' and created a beautiful photo art work using family scrapbook photos.

Epson V370

I purchased this unit to transfer all my family negatives and archive. It has done a great job and the software is easy to use. It is light weight but performs like a higher priced unit. I've had numerous scanners throught the years and this ranks on the top. Epson did a good job.

Scans well. The auto photo and document pdf scan option does a reasonable job as far with cropping and deskewing different sized photos/pages. This saves time and makes things easy for most scan jobs. The hinged lid that opens to 180 degrees has proved useful as well.
I would have preferred the cables to be plugged in at the back of the scanner rather than near the buttons at the front.

finally I can get my photos transferred

I have thousands of slides and photos from various family members who have passed and I want to save them for my children with comments. Although with this photo scanner, it is a slow,slow task to do slides, I am pleased with the results. Hopefully when scanned it will be easier to set up shows and sort the slides to make sense, since I am the only one who can pass on the stories and who is who in the photos.

THIS PRODUCT DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS THAT IT CAN DO. I HAVE MANY FILM STRIPS THAT HAVE GATHER OVER THE YEARS AND WITH THE V370 IT HAS BEEN VERY EASY TO SWITCH FROM FILM STRIP, DOWNLOAD TO COMPUTER, COPY TO DVD. NOW ALL MY FAMILY MEMBERS CAN HAVE THESE PRICELESS MEMORIES WITH LITTLE OR NO EXPENSE.

I just returned a different scanner that I thought would be a fit for my needs. NOPE! Researched the Epson V370, returned the other scanner and bought this one! I love it!! Just scanned some old negatives and was amazed at the quality. I am very impressed with this machine.
