What's great about it: Works 100% as advertised
What's not so great: Bowl's a bit small, but that's nit picking.
For Christmas I bought the wife (myself) a Kitchen Aid mixer and decided shortly after it was time to buy some of the wonderful gadgets that go with it. So far the grinder and sausage attachment have been outstanding so I figured I'd jump into the world of homemade ice cream and the ice cream maker attachment is fantastic. So far in the month that I've owned it I've made 6 different flavors of ice cream and two sorbets, next up is Cherry Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt. It's simple to use, easy to clean and the ice cream turns out awesome. If you don't mind doing a little internet research you can find super ice cream and yogurt recipes that can be made in a snap with this attachment. Just be prepared to give the ice cream a little extra time in the freezer as the finished product is more like a soft serve ice cream. My only knock on the maker is I wish it had a bigger freezing bowl. Bigger bowl equals more ice cream!

What's great about it: Easy set-up, simple directions, no need for seperate appliance
What's not so great: Higher priced than some stand alone ice cream makers
This attachment worked wonderfully! The directions are very clear and easy to understand. I started off with the vanilla ice cream, and the finished result turned out fabulous! This product is worth every penny if you already own the stand mixer. Very easy to clean the bowl and utensils. I keep the bowl in the freezer at all times. I am anxious to try the fruit sorbets next.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This accessory makes it so easy to make delicious ice cream anytime you want it. I bought a great ice cream recipe book to use with it and enjoy experimenting with it. This accessory came free with the purchase of my KitchenAid so it was a great value.
I have no complaints: it's a great size for storage in the freezer and for the amount of ice cream it produces.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Makes good ice cream
What's not so great: Need a KitchenAid mixer
I got a KitchenAid mixer last holiday, and I soon begged for this accessory afterwards. It's fabulous! Put the bowl in the freezer, pop in the ingredients, and mix mix mix until it gets more solid. It's a nice dual use for the mixer and the bowl isn't so huge that it takes up the whole freezer.
I would recommend this to a friend!
