I bought my Roku 3 just after Christmas and I love it! The headphones allow me to watch even when everyone else in the house is asleep. Also, it is easily portable. So if one of my kids is playing their video game on one tv, I can quickly move to another.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lots of channels

I was surprised by how many channels there were. Amazing. A channel for just about any interest.The remote control is a bit awkward because of its layout, but manageable. Occasionally if you hold the channel button down to long it will start running around channels on its own for about 30 seconds or so. It really needs a redesign. No problem with picture quality, of course that depends on your connection as to how well it will stream. Roku does it's job, the rest is up to your internet connection. Lots of religious programming, old tv shows, old movies, netflix, amazon, local tv station news programming from across the country including Honolulu. I recommend Roku highly.

Best streaming device by a landslide!

The Roku 3 is simply amazing! After using several DLNA streaming packages for years and dealing with terrible cable TV service for decades, it was time for a change. The Roku 3 not only streams all of the videos from my computers with ease but offers an incredible selection of additional channels (most of which are completely free). Usage of the Roku menus is simple for the whole family, so I no longer have to constantly show everybody how to find what they want to watch.
Several other streaming devices were considered when making this purchase. One massive advantage Roku has that they don't seem to advertise much is that the ecosystem is open. It's incredibly easy for developers to make new channels for the Roku. So, there are already a huge number of channels available and this will only continue to increase. Other devices make it extremely difficult or completely impossible to add additional channels other than what comes pre-loaded.
I couldn't be happier with my purchase. My only complaint is that I didn't try a Roku device sooner!

Tons of apps

Great product all in all. The headphone jack in the remote is a fantastic feature. It has a ton of apps and the ability to search several apps for a movie at once is great. My only issues is that the device lacks an optical output and The button placement on the remote isn't as good as Apple TV or Amazon fire. The Roku remote does have a 10 sec rewind button but lacks a 10 sec fast forward. It is deffinently the best streaming player but there are a few things I would change with the device.
