Perfect replacement for television service

I am very pleased with my Roku 3. I was looking for something that I could purchase to eliminate the need for a cable/television service and this was just the thing. It was the perfect Christmas gift this holiday season and there are several great apps that I can use. Hulu and Netflix even allow me to keep up with my TV shows almost as quickly as I would watch them on DVR. I can take my Roku with me when I travel for business and always have several options for programming even if my location does not. I highly recommend this device for those of you looking for an alternative to cable/television service.

I am now with my second unit , the first one had some problems and with the help of there tech service , I had to buy a second as I was feed up with dish as Chanel's would go dowñ and prices up with poor tech support .

This is a great device. I have two! Most of the time on cable, it's a re-run fest. With Roku (and Netflix), you have no brain-washing via Stockholm Syndrome driven commercials, you get multiple seasons of so many shows whenever you want, pause, rewind, change-rooms-on-the-fly, added shows if you have Amazon Prime &/or Hulu, etc. and STILL save over $600 a year. AND it's portable. AND it has USB for watching MP4s. AND headphones so you can blast the TV while someone takes a nap! -- Kill cable, go Roku!

I cannot believe it took so long to get these streaming media players to market. The idea is so simple! The Roku device itself is much smaller than I expected. If you haven't tried a device like this before, or if you're on the fence about which streaming media player to get, you MUST get the Roku 3. You won't be disappointed.
