Great device!

I got the roku 3 for Christmas and I love it! I love streaming Netflix and being able to rent movies from bed. My only problem is that my remote often gets unsynced and I have to restart the roku. However, my wifi is shared throughout many apartments and is not always reliable--I am hoping that's my issue. Overall, it is an excellent buy and I would always buy it over Apple tv.

great streaming but wifi direct remote interferes

so it's fast, but the remote seems to interfere with the tivo remote and also my wireless headphones, so i just unplug it if it's not in use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the free movie apps

I bought this a month or so ago and am really loving this. I watch more movies and other content than regular tv or cable tv apps. Have cut my cable bill in half

Roku device Good - Free Streaming Channels Awful

My average review is not so much based on the quality of the roku device itself, but on the poor quality of free streaming channels available. I thought the whole purpose of streaming free was to be able to actually watch good content for free, but I guess the old adage is true, "you get what you pay for". Probably more true, is that industry is going to MAKE you pay for what you want. I have looked and looked for good content on the free channels to no avail. The free streaming channels have nothing but garbage, B movies and shows I have never heard of and don't have any interest in......have wasted hours just looking for something entertaining for the family to watch. I guess I will have to give in and purchase Netflix just to have anything newer or interesting to watch. That would be fine, but it seems like there are a lot of channels that cost the same amount, ex. - Hulu, etc., etc., and I imagine if you subscribe to a bunch of channels, you might as well be paying for cable, which I am not. I am very disappointed in the whole streaming experience. There is one good channel I have found, the jw broadcasting channel - excellent for the whole family!

Good Upgrade

I purchased the Roku 3 to upgrade from a Roku 2. It is a good upgrade with speed, display, and ability to search. I also like the ability to have ear plugs to listen when others are sleeping. My only concern is the battery life of the remote seem too short. Seems like I'm changing them about every 3-4 weeks.

Bought as a gift, and ended up keeping it! The setup of the ROKU was really easy and was watching shows within 10 minutes . I don't know why I didnt buy this sooner. Love the headphone option in the remote.

We have had the system for two months and totally love it. Ease in setup and then use of controls to see all our favorite shows and movies is excellent. No problems encountered anywhere. Thanks for a great experience.
