The Roku 3 does almost everything I want it to do. When it does not do what I want it to do it is because the channel does not permit the action.

We purchased our ROKU about a month ago, and couldn't be happier. Our daughter has her own You Tube videos and we were able to view them on our 60" tv through our new ROKU. Rokumendous.

A splendid device

The Roku delivers as advertised, opening up a rich world of varied entertainment. It's only fault occurs when you go too rapidly between choices; it will begin to spin and can't be controlled. You have to exit, go to another option like satellite, and return. Then all is well. This happens too often. Still, what a buy.

Big Upgrade from Roku 2XD

We have had a ROKU 2XD for 2.5 years and wanted to add another ROKU to our house. We were getting tired of disconnecting the ROKU 2 and taking it into the living room. There are three big improvements we can see for the ROKU 3. First is the increased speed. The whole system has been sped up and is much more responsive than the ROKU 2XD. Menus load faster and its a much smoother experience. Second is the new ROKU remote, night and day versus the old remote. the wifi remote connects flawlessly and the response is immediate from the ROKU. the old remote was decent at best, and we used the phone most of the time. The quick buttons are also a nice feature, allowing a quick change to 'Amazon Prime' or 'Netflix' very quickly. The third feature we love is the ethernet connection. This is probably just a problem with our home network, but we were having some connectivity issues (comcast router). Specifically, the ROKU was forgetting the wireless connection and we were having to manually input the password, which is not fun! So, now we have a power over ethernet connection and have no problems at all with the ROKU. We are planning on getting a sounbar, so the optical cable is another great feature we plan to use. overall, very satisfied with the purchase and happy with the price.

Fast streaming - remote eats up battery life

I upgraded to the roku 3 and generally I'm happy with it. The one drawback that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the battery life on the remote. I've had it for less than a month and have had to replace the batteries twice. I assume that it works as a receiver and so is on all of the time. I'm trying to remember to unplug it when I'm not watching, hoping that will stop the receiver function but as I use it in bed I often fall asleep and forget. There should be a "sleep" button for it to turn off, or at least an "off" button.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
