LOVE our TWO Roku 3's with ONE exception...

We have 2 Roku 3's in our house. We use them A LOT! They are AMAZING with 1 exception... you can't turn them OFF. They go into sleep mode. I really wish they could be turned off- b/c even in sleep mode they use internet bandwidth. The end up bogging down the wifi in my house & I have to unplug them when not in use. Just having an OFF switch would be nice- or they could automatically turn off after not being in use after a certain amount of time like my satellite box.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best gadget ever!

I bought my husband the Roku 2 and it wasn't compatible with his tv, so we were forced to go back to cable for a while until I got a newer tv . But when we went to hook the Roku 2 back up it would not work. We bought a new power supply but still nothing. I was alittle disappointed that we essentially only got about 4 months use out of it and we still don't know why it just died. So we opted to try again with the Roku 3, and I love it, the hubby still doesn't care for it because he is so spoiled by cable and fights new technology. If I could cancel cable tomorrow I would.....maybe when we get him a new tv.

Great player!

I've tried a few different streaming media players and this is the best of the lot. Quickest between channels, ease of use and the bonus headphone jack (headphones included) in the remote. Again, great player.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Decent if you not expecting much

what it does good:
- Has a lot and a lot of channels
- having a headphones plug in remote is awesome
- Payments and signing into a channel is easy
- Overall experience is good.

what it does not do good:
- USB supports less formats than my Sony TV(I was expecting this to replace my earlier WD player - WD Player had not so good experience with channels and all)
- Audio issues with Netflix Dolby digital Plus, i have to switch over to other audio every time.

Not as good as I thought it would be

I received this as a Christmas gift much to my delight. It was easy to hook up and begin using. Unfortunately, like so many other things, anything free is LOADED with ads, otherwise one has to part with money. It has plenty of apps (channels) to chose from, but too many of the movie channels feature the same movies. I can say that I am disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mixed results

Was given this as a gift. About 1/3 of the time this product doesn't want to work. Picture flashes off/on until either Roku is rebooted or HDMI cable in unplugged and plugged back in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
