Excellent streamer - not so much private video

Streaming and channels work greatwith almost unlimited options, but playback of personal video files is very limited.

Used the Roku Angry Birds edition for a few years previous, upgraded to 3 and it seems to work a bit faster and all around better unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Much Better Than AppleTV

I have an AppleTV but needed a second streaming device. I am holding back for the next generation of the same from Apple. This in spite of Cnet's top rating for Roku-3. Then a sports PPV channel I needed is available only on ROKU. So, I gave in and bought one. Roku is so much better than Apple TV in so many ways..at least for my viewing habits. (1) Home Button: I don't have to scroll through where I am to get to the home page. (2)FASTER: after rewind/FF streaming starts immediately (3)CC: just click on * to activate closed captioning...as opposed to scrolling back to settings on AppleTV (4) Buffering: or lack of it..no interruptions compared to Apple.
Is this first time someone outdid Apple? I say so in spite of the fact I have full family of Apple products.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love my Roku! there are so many apps to choose from, I'm strongly considering giving up cable altogether! Don't hesitate to buy this. It is well worth the money.

We had the Roku for about a month and it really supplemented our TV accessibility and channels. Made our TV a smart TV without buying a new one.

This little box lives up to the rave! Far better than using your gaming unit or other types of devices for streaming. The number of available channels is staggering. With the Roku 3, there is always something on.
