Im so happy that I bought this I really can just run my internet without having overpriced cable now since there is so much that I can add to my channels selection. It was the easiest thing to set up it literally walks you through it with ease no help needed.

I've had this for a little over a month. I got it to replace a laptop I had dedicated to streaming. The Roku isn't as good as a laptop due to its reliance on apps. The apps are not as good as those on my tablet (they don't tell you how many new episodes on a particular show, or expiration dates). Besides the main streaming sites, the other services are pretty worthless. The remote is better but I wish it was lighted. My Roku sometime doesn't load right and the graphics don't show up on the lists.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Each time we try to use the Roku 3 when we start to watch we get a screen that says "hdcp unauthorized"
To fix the problem we have to unplug the power from the Roku 3, wait a bit, and plug it back in, go find what we wanted to watch and watch it.

Worked Great for 6 months then not so much.

Roku 3 will not stay connected to the internet and I have to continually unplug it to reset it. It keeps stopping when on Netflix. I am very unhappy with it. To start with it was great. I love the ability to put headphones on the control.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Roku has been one of the best investments we could make, as far as television viewing goes. So much variety. Even if you don't pay for premium channels, there's alot of cool free channels.

I researched a few other smart TV options - Roku, Apple TV, and Chrome Cast. Based on the reviews I read, I decided to go with the Roku 3 and couldn't be happier. It's easy to use, has a ton of channels, and I love being able to put my headphones into the remote and listen to the TV.
It has a simple interface and is easy to navigate and use. Would definitely recommend this to a family member or friend.
