I AM A STILL IN THE DARK AGES WHEN IT COMES TO ELECTRONICS..THE ROKU IS EASY THE ROKU 3 IS EASY TO OPERATE AND THE PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND THE SELECTION IS GREAT

Password prevents logon

Unit does not have web capability thus it cannot connect to a wireless network that has a password unless you contact the service provider and request they do it for you. And if the SP refuses to do this you are out of luck.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ok but could be better

First you cannot activate without entering a credit card online or using paypay. This is bad for anyone who does not use or cannot use one. It is very locked down and tou can only use pre-approved apps. Other than that its ok.

My family is enjoying the Roku experience. We've had no issues with our equipment. There are two things that we believe could be improved. One is the lack of volume on the remote. We knew there were several complaints about this issue when we bought the product, but it would be nice to have this function. The other item that was a pain during set up was having to put in our cable provider info for each channel. Set up would be easier if there was a user profile where this info was stored and automatically uploaded to the channels.

Roku 3's ability to connect via wired LAN connection is great, this has greatly improved the response time when changing channels.
