Real jenky set up, had to input the wireless password 15 times and unplug the unit 10 times to make it work. Mirror function won't work with an IPad at all and very sporadic with an android phone. Bought the Roku 3 no worth the price as the advanced features don't seem to work very reliably.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Interface does not make sense!

The Netflix interface is super annoying and the type so small it's hard to read.
I was watching Mad Men Season 7 and it would not tell me which episode I was on and so when I would come back I had to figure it out, by scrolling trough the episode. It always jumped back to eps 1 from season 1!

I am very unhappy with this product

I I got this product two months ago to replace my aging media player. I had planned to use this product to stream my home movie and photos up from my home media server. However this is not possible unless you buy an addition software client. However this is not obvious because the product comes with a Plex client but it doesn't tell you that the client is an evaluation. After month or so the evaluation expires making the product pretty useless expect for Netflix streaming. It also doesn’t make it clear that the built in media player cannot mount files off a network share.
That is just one of my complaints about the device the other one is that I can't make purchases without putting my credit card data in the device. This is a small home device which is does not have power off switch. Without installing some type of home network monitoring I can’t tell if it is doing anything weird. I been around IT long enough to know that it is some type of computer and that all computers require maintenance and by default are not very secure. I looked around but there wasn’t much information available about how Roku devices are secured and where and how my card data is stored. This has been even more irritating because even if I wanted to buy the Plex player plug in I can’t without putting my credit card data in the device. So all in all the device seems to fall very short of what I expected it to be. It is also annoying that after you purchase the product they decide to stream adds to you for you to buy items. I would figure that having bought the device I wouldn’t have to deal with adds.

Roku Streaming Stick

I've had this for over a year now and its never consistently worked for longer than a week. I'm constantly having to reset it and it only recognizes the remote about half the time. I have a a first generation wii that works much better.

They Keep Improving

I bought my first Roku 3 in September 2014, and liked it so much I bought a second one in February 2015.
PROs: What I like most about it is how fast it loads movies and TV episodes. I have another streaming player built into a Blu-Ray player, and it takes much longer to load things I want to watch.
My second favorite feature on this is being able to fast-forward through sections of a show, such as credits/music, or objectionable scenes. I do wish this feature were more fine-grained, though - each jump is so large I sometimes miss parts I wanted to see and have to back up and watch some parts I didn't want to see in order to get what I did want to see (did that make sense?)
My next favorite feature is how many channels I can get. It seems they add a new one whenever it comes available, and that is excellent.
CONs: Every once in a while, the thing hangs, and I have to reboot it. This occurred with increasing frequency on Netflix over the last couple of months, until I finally (with live chat help from Roku) had to delete and reinstall the Roku app from "My Channels." This appears to have fixed it.
Also, an episode will occasionally show in NON-HD, meaning the picture is much grainier than it should be. I have been unable to find a "try again" or "reboot this episode" type feature to remedy this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have the Roku LT and I got the 3 for my living room TV which my Mom uses and she really likes it. I love the headphone feature which is why I got this 3 so, when she's up late watching I can sleep in peace. It's very easy to use
