I regret to hear of your experience with your refrigerator, unhappyme55. Most new refrigerators are designed to save energy. They are equipped with low energy consumption fans and compressors. These refrigerators will run most of the time and only stop when a defrost cycle is needed to thaw ice buildup in the freezer. Modern, high-efficiency compressors operate much faster than older models. The compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. You can find more information about the normal sights and sounds you will experience with your refrigerator on page 22 of your Owner’s Manual. I wonder if the flapper that closes after you dispense the ice is not closing fully. That would cause water from melting cubes that may have been trapped to drip down from the dispenser. Are you able to see if the flapper is closing? Is it both doors that are not closing well or one in particular? When doing a visual check, does the gasket in the door/doors involved look like it has come out of the channel? The sides should tilt ¼ inch (6 mm) from front to back (to ensure that doors close and seal properly). Does your refrigerator have this tilt?
