I watched this movie on regular DVD atleast 20 times, when I got it on blu-ray, it was like seeing it for the first time again! I absolutely loved it!
What's great about it: Everything!

Entertaining but nothing more than a MIller comic

I infer that most people know by now that you don't see a Hollywood flick for historical accuracy. However, I will say that some movies do make you go, "I wonder if that really happened or not?" For example, movies like Braveheart or Gladiator make you wonder if those movies had any sort of historical accuracy to them. Sadly enough, the answer is usually "historically false." With 300, most people who are familiar with Frank Miller's work understand that his work is based on creative art rather than historical accuracy. Even Miller himself argues that the movie 300 was produced to get a sense of his vision of the infamous battle with the Persians in an artistic sense. Is the movie entertaining? I absolutely think so. However, when I attempted to re-watch 300, I realize that outside of the spectacular cinematography and acting; the over exaggerated monsters and costumes made 300 too cartoonish for my liking. Even Miller's Sin City seemed more realistic in the way it was portrayed even though Sin City was filmed with more comic like cinematography. My feelings after watching 300 for the second time gave me a sense of emptiness. Sort of like....."that's it?"
What's great about it: Physically fit actors/actresses; very original cinematography
What's not so great: Cheesy cartoonish characters
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this movie revolves around the 300 troops that held off one of the largest forces of its day. it is a high action movie with excellent music with a hard beat during fight scenes. also the narration during some of the movie is great as well. i rank this up there with braveheart and gladiator. the movie is great, action packed and even has some scenes revolving the main characters wife who is betrayed by someone in power that leads to why the story ends the way it does. it does have some scenes a little out there such as the spirit scene (which i am not familiar with the term they used for it, but basically they had to get the "gods"approval to go to war.
over all a great movie, if you havent seen it buy it, its worth it for action fans who love the mid-evil type era.
What's great about it: superb high action story
What's not so great: nothing
I would recommend this to a friend!

"300" added on to the list of great action titles. Hands down one of the best movies. You want to watch it over and over again. I watched it at the movies and couldn't wait till its home arrival.
What's great about it: The Fighting Sequences

This movie is awesome! I first watched in the theaters and was WOWED with
visual effects of the action scenes. I bought it on dvd and played it on my bluray player which upconverts dvds. The battles in the movie are stunning to look at and made me jump out of my seat. I loved the part where King Leonidas was on a killing rampage played in slow motion which was awesome and made it very dramatic. Another part that I loved is when the "immortals" were approaching and the Spartans were waiting behind the pile of bodies; then the Spartans did a surprise attack on them and the battle was on. The battle was amazing, intense, and was visually appealing. In my opinion these were the parts that made the movie worth watching. I enjoyed the movie and its very entertaining.
What's great about it: spectacular visual effects and cinematography
I would recommend this to a friend!

See this movie! Great acting and cinematography! The plot plays out at a fast action pace, with political twists that could be as relevent to todays battles of one party against another for control and power. Many realistic fight sceens. Get this one for your collection!!
