Not worth the money

What's great about it: Very quiet
What's not so great: needs to be cleaned every day!
"I didn't want a cheap one that would blow dust around, so I bought this Ionic Pro Turb. It sure is quiet! I can't hear it run at all. My biggest problem is that it needs to be cleaned every day! When I clean the blades as the instructions indicate, it must dry for a long time before using again. Within an hour of turning it on again, it needs to be cleaned again! The air quality in my room is good to begin with, and when I wipe the blades, they are already clean! My next step is to contact the manufacturer. Itis never running, so it's not worth the money."

What's great about it: Easy to set up, great price
What's not so great: everything is great
"I have had it for one day and i instantly recognized the dramatic change. I am allergic to cats and I have one, I would always have to take claritin or any other allergy medicine but with this ionic pro turbo, i noticed within the same day i wasnt struggling to breath, i wasnt sneasing or having allergic reactions. This is the first time my cat has hung out with me the whole day and not one sneeze out of me. Its also quite and out of the way and i am going to buy the second one for my bedroom."

"This product is terrific. My wife and I can’t say enough good things about it. We have had it for just over a month, and cleaned the filters for the 1st time this weekend. We were a bit surprised to see how much it pulled out of the air, and we keep our house very clean. We haven’t noticed the “ozone smell” people have mentioned, the house just smells…clean. We have a big dog (125 pound rottweiler) and before we got this product, from time to time we noticed a “dog smell” in the house. Now that we have been running this, the “dog smells” are a thing of the past. Another great thing about it, is how quiet it is. Even on the highest setting. If you couldn’t feel the air movement around it, you wouldn’t even know it’s on."

What's great about it: Extremely easy to use, effective, no expensive filters to buy.
What's not so great: Haven't found it yet....
"First, this machine is great at removing particulate matter from the air. No more dust, cat hair or dog fur floating around my bedroom! This also means I am sleeping so much better - always a plus. I don't wake up feeling
Then there is the odor issue; I don't smell cat or dog anymore, and even normal cooking odors are a thing of the past.
I've cleaned the 'filter' once in the last month, and yuck, the amount of stuff this machine has removed from the air is scary!
The mild 'ozone odor' is only really noticeable on the highest setting, and after a day or two - you don't really smell it anymore.
If you have a lot of electronic devices that constantly getting gooped up with dust and hair - this is just what you need.
I also bought the compact model for my room-mate and she has nothing but praise for it."

What's great about it: Easy to Use, and it works well. Designed Well.
What's not so great: Regular Cleaning. Must be completely dry after cleaning. This is critical!
"I have pets: 1 dog and 2 cats. Pet dander was a concern. I have company that smokes cigars and cigarettes. My pets, company, and I needed good breathing air. After doing all the research possible, I purchased the ionic turbo. I have no buyers remorse. This unit simplys works great. The only thing you really need to know before purchasing this unit is: 1. there is general maintenance required. You do have to clean the blades biweekly if you run it on "high." It's very easy. Maybe 10 minutes. A freind of mine did not completely dry it before reinstalling the blades. He plugged it, short circuiting the unit. He had to send the unit back. Big pain. 2. There is an ozone smell. How much ozone is converted to pure oxygen is uncertain, but sure sounds good to me. If you do not think you can get used to this smell, then reconsider. I have heard of a few people that actually get headaches or nauseous to the electronic wiff of ozone. I got used to it within a couple of days. Now it's fine and just confirms that it working as it should. I'm going to accumulate enough points and buy one for the master bedroom, too. May be one for the basement!"

"Just got this home about 2 hours ago. I bought this because I couldn't deal with the smoke smells drifting into my apartment through the walls anymore. After just a little while the air quality in my apartment has vastly improved. I think this is worth the money if you live in an area with air pollution no matter what the source is."

"In a nutshell........I think this is a good alternative to HEPA air purifers. It is quiet, does a pretty good job, reasonably priced. Everyone who comes into my condo says it smells fresh which makes me happy. I do recommend buying an extra set of collection blades so you can keep it running while the dirty ones dry (you have to make sure they are 100% dry before putting them back in, otherwise will damage unit) Most people either love this product or dislike it. Personally, I think it is great. (They make great gifts as well, thinking of buying a couple for Christmas presents this year) Make sure you read the owner's manaul and watch The instructional DVD that it comes with, follow the directions and enjoy fresh air."

What's great about it: Cleans the air
What's not so great: Emits ozone
"This product claims to turn smog and ozone into clean air but it actually EMITS ozone making it bad for asthma sufferers. Allergy sufferers may see relief but even small amounts of ozone will aggravate asthma. We purchased it thinking that it was different than the others since it claimed to convert ozone into clean air but the owners manual says differently towards the back. Here is the link to the Ionic Pro manual. http://www.ionicpro.com/pics/ip500_manual.pdf (see page 14) We purchased the Ionic Pro Turbo but the manual reads exactly the same as this link. Asthma sufferers, look for air purifiers that are approved by the American Lung Association. There are better alternatives."

"I have owned the Ionic Pro Turbo for about 2 months now and absolutely love it. It is almost totally silent. I orded an extra set of collection blades becuase I clean mine every 4-5 days. It is amazing how much dust and grim it collects in only a few days. I use it in my bedroom. Yes it does emit some ozone during operation but it is so small it is not harmful. Even HEPA air purifers emit some ozone. With the Oxygen Plus filter it converts most ozone back to (02) Oxygen which is a huge benefit over other air purifers. We decided we needed another air purifer in the 2nd bed room and decided to try a HEPA purifer which cost about $200.00. After taking the HEPA-type air purifer home and listening to the fan running we took it back and got another Ionic Pro Turbo. You can't go wrong with the Ionic Pro Turbo. Just know that if you decided to buy one that you have to clean it at least once a week in order for it to work efficiently, which is a small price to pay to have a silent air purifer. It is great for a room air purifer but I think the 500 sq ft it says it will cover is to much, a bedroom or living room about 14 x 17 is about the maxium it can handle. So if you buy this with reasonably expectations I think you will be glad you did."

"The Ionic Pro Turbo seems to work well at removing dust and whatever that dirt looking stuff is that you wipe off. I clean my collection blades every Friday and there is quiet a bit of dust it collects weekly.
I think the claims of what this product actually does is greatly exaggerated. For example it says that it converts smog and ozone into pure oxygen. If this was so eaisly done then why are all cars not required to have these type of filters? In the back of the owner's manual it also says that it omits ozone during operation? Also claims to capture and destroy cold germs, viruses, bacteria. If this product worked that well it would be considered a miracle product and everyone would be buying them!!
All in all I like it because it does collect dust and dirt from the air because I see it when i clean the blades every week. How effective it actually is I do not know, but I like the gentle breeze it creates on the night stand by my bed.
One more note -- the owner's manual does not tell you this but when you turn it on it operates continulously for about 1 hour then it cycles on and off, the frequency depends on high, medium, or low."

What's great about it: Very Quiet, Lifetime Filter
What's not so great: None
"Since I got this my son has slept much better. His sinuses usually act up this time of year, but now he sleeps sound. For that alone it is worth is. I thought it would remove alot of dust from the air and it does but my electronic components still attract alot of dust but I guess I'll have to live with that. Walking into the room, the air smells much cleaner which is nice. Overall, very satisfied."

"I bought two of these for my living room and dining rooms. They are each big rooms and make a huge difference in the air i breathe. The indoor air is worse than the outdoor air a lot of times. Now when I walk in the house, it's clean and feels so good. I have cats too and it helps with thier dandur and stuff. Easy to clean and I got one for free since I saved up points on my best buy rewards credit card."
