Overall satisfied,exception would be that woofer has no volume control and it can really reverberate.
Sound will arbitrarily cut out . Cured by shutting it off then back on.
Takes a long time for the sound to load then if muted and turned back on an electronic snap occurs.
Other than that all other functions work as described.

Nice system but a few ideas

1. Get rid of the hard-wired speakers or add 5 feet to the fronts and 20 feet to the rears
2. Speed up the response. We replaced a 4 year old roku which was 3-4 times faster
3. Allow addition of channels to SEN

Sound problems

I tried two BDV-E3100. The first one I brought home had 2 problems. One was it would get stuck on maximum volume when you were adjusting the volume. The other was it would get in a mode where it'd alternate between sound and being muted. It could only be fixed by doing a system reset. I exchanged it for a different unit. This one did not have the first problem but it would occasionally get into the mode where it would rapidly alternate between mute and sound. This would happen when you attempted to adjust the volume. I previously would only buy Sony products because of their high quality but after this I don't know that I would.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thought we would be happy
Wanted a soundbar and new player. Saw this so went with it. Really question the 1000w output. Sound is just OK, not what we expected though. I will tell you, don’t hook up to the TV unless it’s your only option. Use the optical cable from the cable/satellite box, sound will be almost as good as a DVD.
BIG PROBLEM player shuts down and restarts after about half hour into a movie. May do it 2-3 times more. We thought it was the disc, but only 1 movie of 6 we watched has made it through. All the discs aren’t bad. Will be looking into a warranty replacement. We own other Sony products, this on disapoints. Oh, the feature list says I can stream from my ipad. Don’t know how, only the audio works.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This unit is very cool , when you get right into it,, Only problem I fine is that reg TV doesn't come trought the unit as well , but over all great sound an fun to play with

1) Volume randomly increases to max when no one is anywhere near the volume buttons or remote which makes the system unusable.
2) Severe delay between the remote and the system.
3) Sound is delayed from the video.
4) We use the television volume because when people are speaking you can't hear what they are saying (the delay doesn't help with deciphering) while music is too loud.
5) this last one is probably my fault but the name of the system is ".....with Bluetooth" and the photo shows wireless speakers so I was disappointed to see they are wired.

Good - picture quality, easy setup and wifi connectivity, dts sound
Bad -
1. Very less Sound modes no much difference in each sound mode
2. Need to always stop movie while shifting from 5.1 to sound mode etc.
3. Doesnt play HD discs, few movie formats, and for few formats there is no option to forward/skip..need to watch from starting if you stopped in between.
4. Bass is too high and irritates at times while watching at nights
There are lots of more disadvantages.. becareful before buying. I sold it after using 4 months... got irritated with the sound quality and complex settings options..not user friendly.

When my DVD player broke, I decided to spend a little more on a streaming blu ray player thinking I could possibly replace my cable. In the very least I could watch HULU for free on it. Here's the problem... this has HULU+, Netflix, Amazon, and so on, but these you have to pay for. Although I plan to sign up with Netflix, I did want the option of the shows HULU provides (not HULU+) and for some weird reason that was excluded in this system. Seems like complete nonsense. For me the sound is OK but I'm not too demanding there anyway.
