It's cheap speaker wire. You get what you pay for. It's been hooked up to speakers for roughly a year and a half and wires are already becoming frayed due to average moving them around. For a mediocre sound system, they get the job done. If you have something nicer, spend the money on better wire

Used this to wire up my home theater. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they did the job. You can buy better, but why!? Unless you are concerned about interference I wouldn't bother with the more high gauge cable.
