I got this as a gift ,real easy set up , and been having a lot of fun with it scanning pics ,newspaper clippings , I would recomend this to anyone .

Easy for real.

I purchased it some time back and just got it up and running. It upgraded to windows 8 without a hitch. The auto run mode is great just put something in the scanner and it identifies and copies it perfectly. The photograph negative feature produces perfect prints only electronically. Just great for us old time photography enthusiasts.

Wonderful scanner

I have been very pleased with the Epson photo scanner. When I bought it, I was a bit skeptical about how well it would work, but it does as well as the salesman stated. My 90 year old mother moved from her house, and I made a project of scanning all of her photos for a family photo disc. This scanner is very easy to use. Occasionally, I need to turn the auto-correction off to get a colorful background to copy correctly, but otherwise it really does restore color to faded color photos that seem impossible to salvage. Thank you!!

Epson V500 Scanner

I have found good definition and ease of operation. As I have no patience with technology or machines that don't perform when I want to, this has not "ticked me off" yet.

The scanner is the best I have had to date. I have been scanning very old photos, for family records. Some of these photos are 150 or more years old. I am scanning in the 720 dpi plus range all the time. I can get perfect images.
I do recommend this to anyone who is taking the time to scan high quality images.
If you want a scanner for day to day work get an all-in-one, such as you find in the Epson Artisan Series.
Note:- I am using a Mac 10.9 OS, and there is a current version of Epson software that is compatible.

Adequate for the job

I am one of those baby-boomers with thousands of color slides to scan. I've had other Epson scanners in the past, the Perfection 1640 did a wonderful job with slides, but I could not get software updates to work with the new Mac OS. So far the V500 works fine., but not as well as the 1640.
