Great Scanner

I bought the V500 photo scanner to scan family photos. The scanner positve features:
- quick & easy to use
- no warm-up period
- convenient size unit
- great quality scan
- quick set-up
- easy photo correction features
- multi-photo scanning

The end result is good quality photos that we will cherish.

Best Flatbed Scanner I've ever owned

Before I buy any product, I research it thoroughly; Specifications and most importantly, REVEIWS!
My use is 80% personal; i.e. Family Photos, Reproduction of printed documents, etc, and 20% business; OCR & some imaging.
The scanner had to meet a certain set of criteria. 1) USB 2) Good color rendition, 3) A nice range of resolution settings and optionally, 4) be able to scan Photo Negatives / Slides. This "Fit-the-bill" !! In-Fact, This scanner does far more than what I needed or have even used.
The scanner came nicely packed with restraining clips for the slide arm & non-residue tape.
Setup was easy. When I bought this I was using Windows XP Pro. I upgraded to Windows 7 & had no compatibility issues.
(A word of caution, make sure you have a decent amount of memory (RAM) 2-4GB, ESPECIALLY if you plan on doing Hi-Res scans. Otherwise, rendering time will be very long after the scan is complete)
The OCR software "ABBYY" (included) is outstanding! The recognition has been perfect.
I have not had a single problem with either the included software or the scanner itself.
This should be on the desktop of anyone who is serious about imaging.

I needed to scan many years of photos and slides into a digital format. I wanted a good scanner that was easy to use as well as capable of great results without a huge software learning curve. I also didn't want to spend a fortune! I got everything I was looking for in this scanner! Slides, films, pictures and logical intuitive software that actually works! I have so far scanned several hundred photos and slides and all is great!
I would recommend this to a friend!

V500 Photo scanner

Easy to use and does an outstanding job. I have been scanning slides I have had in storage for a long time. The results have been very satisfying. I am now able to post my photos on the Internet. The quality shows in the final product. I would recomend this scanner to a friend.

Epson Perfection V500

I've had this scanner for about 2 years and have scanned over a thousand photos with it, including slides and negatives. This scanner is fantastic. With it I can set the resolution, restore faded pictures, remove dust and scratches, and in short do anything I want with the photos. I can also scan printed documents and convert them into Word documents. This scanner is really top quality for the serious photographer.

Exactly What I expected.

I hated to get rid of my old Epson, but there seemed to be no drivers for it compatible with Windows 8. I knew what I wanted - all the old features plus Auto Document Feeding. I found that for just a few dollars more I could get that plus a wide array of USEFUL feature (not whiz-bang stuff you never use). This scanned does exactly what I need; it's easy, intuitive, and fast.

I have scanned hundreds of slides with this scanner and have been happy with the results. Highly recommend this scanner for anyone who has lots of slides and not a lot of money.
