Good, BUT

The reproduction is excellent.
The software could use some help!
In the Full Auto mode, the program closes each time a scan is completed, so doing a large amount of scanning is tedious. The best way to use the V500 for large amounts of scanning is the Full Auto mode so one must endure the extra work for each photo.

Love it. It’s very user friendly. So far I’m doing simple scanning of photos....brightens them up with good detail. I’m looking forward to the many other features.

Epson Perfection V500 Photo Scanner

I bought this scanner so that I could copy old photos and old recipes in family members' original handwriting. This scanner is doing a great job. With support from staff at my local Mac Store, I have learned to use it very well with my Mac computer. It was difficult to install since I could not use the CD's that came with the scanner. However, Epson telephone support staff guided me through the process.

I've had the scanner two days and have already scanned over 600 35MM slides. It is easy to use and produces excellent digital images.

Very easy installation. Produces very good quailty photo scans as well as other documentation. The included software is easy to understand and easy to use. A very good product.

Excellent Product

There are very few items these days that are truly "plug and play" but this scanner is. Install the software, plug it in and start scanning! I am very happy with this product. I am using it to scan family photos and a few documents. It is fast enough and the scanned quality is great. Very easy to manipulate the photos to get the results you want.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I think I may get kicked off Facebook because I am posting so many pictures I scanned. The pictures are absolutely beautiful and just the right size. That machine is so very smart. I couldn't be happier.
