Very happy with the Perfection scanner. Excellent scanning of multiple pictures. Comes with good picture software. Would recommend this scanner for all scanning but makes picture scanning easy.

Epson Perfection V500 works!

With only 2 hours to use it so far I was able to hook it up and run 4 slides through the unit.
They all came out great! The 35 mm slides were probably 40 years old.

Great Product

I have used this product for two days and LOVE it. It scans negatives and slides and they look great!! I am totally impressed with the quality. And I believe it is faster than scanning individual photos. I only have to preview once and then drag the scan box over each slide. It does take between 1-2 minutes per scan for negatives, but I save time by not having to preview each photo. I have scanned slides too - it is just as impressive. I haven't quite figured out the ICE technology yet. I am still learning all the wonderful things it can do.

I unpacked the scanner and inserted the installation disk into my laptop. Autorun started and installed all the software without a hitch. I plugged in the power and connected the included USB cable into the scanner and the laptop. I put a photo on the scanner glass, closed the lid and pressed a button. The default settings produced a great looking JPG in about 15 - 20 seconds. I then put a B&W negative from the 1930's in the masque and changed the setting to film bw negative and again a perfect JPG. the amazing thing is that all the scratches and fingerprints were missing on the JPG.
The only thing I had problem with was the sizes of the negative masks. My 1930's negatives were too big. So I made my own mask from artboard and can now scan a large negative up to 3.25" x 9". You have to keep the customized mask about an inch from the top because the scanner is programmed to 'read'
what mask is being used.
Definitely worth the price. Easy to use.

So far so good

Just got it. Simple to set up, and so far meets or exceeds my expectations. The Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 is a real plus. My previous scanner was an Epson Perfection 636U, but could not make it work with Windows 7. Hope this one works as well and as reliable.
