Scan to Email?

What a disappointment! It says it scans to email which it does - but what it doesn't tell you is that it ONLY scans to MS Outlook and MS Live Community emails. So if you don't use those then you are out of luck. Haven't they ever heard of gmail, yahoo, hotmail or the myriad of other email providers? Very short-sighted. I wouldn't recommend this scanner.

Can't name individual slides

This product is very good. A little slow but quality is great. The only problem I've run into is naming the files for the individual slides. First you highlight the slide you want to name and click file save settings. Then you put a name on the slide. If you're scanning more than 1 slide and you name one "Bill" and the other "Josh" than they both will end up being named "Josh".

excellent scanner

I came across old 120 negatives of family photos that I wanted to put on to CD. I needed to find a scanner that would do the job at a reasonable price. The Epson Perfection V500 Photo Scanner did the job at a great price. The only problem was that the instructions aren't very good. I had to figure some things out myself. All in all, a great product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

New at this scanning business and having some difficulties. A detailed owner's manual would be very helpful. Without one, you have to rely on the cd-rom instructions, which necessitates leaving what you are doing with the scanner on the computer and opening a new screen for help. Plus the answers and solutions are too complicated.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beyond Scanning

I was scanning with the V500 within 30 minutes of opening the box. Easy to install and use, the V500 adds great auto colour restoration and dust removal features for older photos...I don't believe it gets any better!
