This is one of the best pieces of electronics I have ever purchased. Works exactly as stated, better than I had imagined. Set up and use is beyond easy. Although scanning negatives is slow the quality is amazing. Compare it to the time required to print in a dark room and there is no comparison. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in scanning negatives and other docs.
Converting many old 35 mm slides has been straight forward with the user friendly software via my i-Mac/OS 10.6 computer. The results have been pleasing, although I have a lot to learn about the optimum settings for my situation.
Easy to set-up/easy to use. Scanned all media with one touch or more if you used the other features. If you are type A and in a hurry this may not be the machine for you. I think the results were worth waiting for.
I purchased this scanner for medium format size negatives my grandfather and father had for years. 70% of my scanning for 2 years has been negatives and after 19,000 scans it sort of broke down. Not the mechanics part but the distortion of the colored prints. I certainly got my money's worth out of what I paid originally for it. Also user friendly. The light bar is wider and the actual drive belt is wider and I felt this would stand up for my use and it certainly did. Besides the ability for scanning larger negatives(4''X4" & 4"X2") you have a adapter for slides and 35 mm size negatives. Great results with photos and documents as well. After reloading this scanner hope to get it functioning again.
I have some very old photos of my mother and my aunt, (identical twins), of myself and of some relatives. Who they were was a matter of debate before I scanned them with this scanner. These photos bring them alive and allow us to see them for the first time in a long time.
