WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU EXPECT FROM AN EPSON

EVERYTHING I EXPECTED FROM AN EPSON PRODUCT.EASY TO USE AND HIGH QUALITY RESULTS.USED PRIMARILY IN SCANNING 35MM SLIDES TO I-PHOTO LIBRARY. EXCELLENT WITH SCANNING PHOTO'S AND DOCUMENTS. EASY TO UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTIONS AND CONTROLS----LOTS OF LEXABILITY.
I got this scanner 2 days ago, so I am just still learning all that this scanner is able to do. I will say, that this scanner was easy to set up and get started. I have been very pleased with the ease to experiment a little and have only positive results. I am certainly not a "techie" and am well into middle age! I would recommend this scanner for price, ease of use, and receiving good scanning results.
Have only used it a couple of times so far but, it was easy to setup and seems to work very well. It is much faster than my old scanner. Tried the Home mode and was not satisfied with the result. Used the Professional mode and the output was great. Have not tried the other modes yet. I like the white cover for the backlight feature. On my old scanner I always had to use a piece of paper to put over smaller objects to scan.Have not tried the backlight feature yet.
I just got this scanner to replace a different brand that was so temperamental, that I rarely had a project worth the aggravation. This last project was the last straw. Taking a photo of the line drawing I needed digitized was just not good enough this time. I liked the reviews for this scanner, so I decided to give it a try.
I was extremely pleased that the software installation with Windows 7 went smoothly, the icon on the desktop let me preview and scan my first test print quickly and easily. The only question was where was it saved? So, I did a second scan and found them in the Pictures folder.
Then, I opened Photoshop, and imported another image. Once again, no problems. It found the scanner, did the preview scan then the final scan and gave me the image in Photoshop as expected.
I have not tried any of the included software, yet. But, I am familiar with Digital ICE, since my Nikon slide scanner came with a version that worked well. So, I expect this latest version to be as good or better.
One thing that the specs are missing is the footprint dimensions. I have this on a small table (16" x 16") that I thought was going to be too small, since the specs list the length as 18.8". But, the feet fit on the surface and I don't even have to build a different stand for it. It would have been nice to know before buying the materials for the new stand.
I have used Epson printer and scanners for ten year now and I would highly recommend both to anyone. It is one of the greatest products I have ever bought. Easy to use and last along time. I would not buy another product but this one. I will give it a cmplete five. Try it and you will say the same thing.
The scanner I had was 10 years old and finally just quit from a power surge the other day. The various options you have on this model is wonderful and saves me quite a bit of time.
This scanner works great for documents and/or photos. Easy to use, well made and a high quality output. I use it to copy and create files for photos and documents. Copies are very clear and crisp.
