V500 Scanner - Wow what a machine!

I love this scanner! After losing the ability to import slides with my previous scanner (upgraded my Mac) I was at a loss without spending several $thousand on a new commerical scanner. An ad caught my attention for the V500. Importing slides, negatives and medium format negs in the Professional mode is fast and easy. Doing a minimal color correction makes them ready to import into my photography software. Thank you again for a product that is simple to use and priced for the small business owner!

I am in Love with this scanner! the results are very professional. Easy to install and easy to use. You can customize it or let the auto part of it do it's thing and all is super. We put through a lot of negatives and printed out some of the pictures and the results were just as good as taking them to a regular print shop. I have also scanned and e-mailed PDF's, so easy! The price on this model was very reasonable also.

This is the best scanner that I have ever purchased for scanning photos! Had I known that this was out there, I would've bought it a LONG TIME AGO! It does just what the name implies...perfection! I cannot express this enough, if you love photos like I do and have a lot of scanning to do, GET THIS FIRST! You will be so glad you did. It truly saves so much Photoshop time!

I only just installed this product yesterday...with the help of Epson Tech Support. The installation instructions are not very thorough and the software would not run. I had to download from the Epson web site. Now I suspect I will be fine and it looks like a very good product once you are up and running. The software appears to be very easy to use.

Turn ON Your Smile

The Epson V500 Scanner is ready with its first "Turn On".
You get very good quality copies for the unit's size. The point is you get more for your investment.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the copies I made from negatives and 35 mm film. You will get you own continued smiles from the V500's first turn on.

very high quality images, very easy to use. I am using the scanner to copy slides and it does a great job. The scanner is slow, averaging about 3 minutes to scan a group of 4 slides but overall I'm very happy with the scanner.

I researched scanners and this was the only unit I could see that I could reproduce B & W negattives in 35mm, but also to to do larger format (2x2) negatives. As a photo jounelist in the 1950's to 80's covering motor racing I am getting requests for old photos. So it was either set up a darkroom, of which I had no space, but to convert to digital.
Using the scanner is fairly simple, but from that point the Adobe softwear ls a challenge for a not too computer savy senior.
I had a slight problem wth scanner in it occasionaly refusing to do a scan after I changed the negative carrier. There probably is a way to correct this, but I just ended the computer program and then re-opened it and everything worked fine for the next hour or so.

The Epson V500 is an excellent machine. I have only one small reservation, to do with software. It would be nice to be able to choose a destination folder for the scan.
