Great scanner - Reasonably priced

I've only had the scanner a few days, but it's working great. I like the ICE feature and that was one of the things that convinced me to buy the Epson V500. Also like the price... I have a lot of old family negatives from the 30s and 40s and they scan beautifully. I'm also very happy with my scanned prints.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had a Epson 2400 for years and was extremely pleased with it. My daughter-in-law's mother died and I was asked to scan/fix a few pictures. A few pictures turned into boxes and boxes of pictures. In self defense, I gave my beloved 2400 scanner to my daughter-in-law and bought a V500 Photo scanner and am very pleased with it. The higher resolution than the 2400 is really nice as well as the Digital Ice feature. Just follow the instructions and installation is no problem. I'm looking forward to many years of great scanning. Thanks for a great product.

I have transferred over 500 slides to computer and backed up photos to cds. A very good scanner.

I just purchased the epsonv500 photo scanner. I have slides, negatives and pictures from over 13 years and didn't want to scrabook anymore. I was able to get started the first night. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I have now scanned one full summer vacation of pictures, doscuments and a couple of old slides very easily and will put them in a digital book. This makes the task of scanning years of photos much less daunting and very doable. Great scanner!

Very nice scanner

I purchased this scanner to replace my Epson V100. I have this scanner for years and absolutely loved it. But alas, my wife has so much to scan since the school system has no money, I had to get something faster. I have also been scanning a large number of prints requiring high resolution and this one is definitely quicker. The scan software is essentially the same as the v100, which means it is easy to use.
My overall feel for this scanner is just very good for what I use it for. I honestly cannot comment on how a professional would fare, but for me it is perfect.

Epson V500 Photo / Slide Scanner

This is a terrific product. I've got a thousand + slides to scan, and I've done about a hundred in an initial rush. Couldn't be easier! 4 at a time. I've used it entirely in "automatic" mode, and that's completely simple and satisfactory.
I also scanned a 35 page document which has been around for several years, using OCR. Worked great!
Only complaint: Surely it would be a simple matter to provide a simple, short paper manual to get us started on basic procedures. That would have been a HUGE help!

I can not recommend this product, I have not been able to scan no more than one photo. I have tried continuously with an error, not responding. I have reinstalled the software and with no luck. I am very disappointment. I will take the scanner back perhaps to get a refund. I expected better results with the reviews I read.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I don't normally write reviews, but as happy as I am with this product, I felt I should. I've had it for less than a day but I'm completely in love with this scanner. I'm an artist, so making sure that what I see on the page is what I see on the screen is very important for me. This scanner picked up details right down to paper texture, and duplicated my color pencil drawings perfectly. I own photoshop, and I'm used to having to make a lot of color corrections, but with this scanner I didn't even need to. It scans a million times faster than my old scanner to boot (to be fair, though, my previous scanner was very old so the performance comparison is probably what has me so amazed).
An excellent product for the price!
I would recommend this to a friend!
