The V500 is a pleasure to work with and truly intuitive. The click-thru menus and features are very descriptive and easy to follow and understand. The quality of the scans, no matter what the media (document, photo print or film) is of the highest quality and will easily meet the demands of most users. The price is well worth it. It's value to the extreme.
I took the Epson V500 photo scanner out of the box and followed the directions and was scanning 35mm slides within an hour. I usually don't mess with the hookups and downloads (I have family members do that part) but I really wanted to get started. It was so easy and it needed to be, based on my skill level! If I can do it, anyone can. I am also pleased with the quality of the scanner, the many options I can use to make the slides better, I like the ease of how to load the slides. I am happy with my purchase and hope the scanner will hold up to all this work ahead!
This product is so easy to use. Got it hooked up to the computer and started scanning. I am about as computer illiterate as they come and this scanner is simple to use. Would recommend this product to everyone.
not as good as my 2450, but you don't provide a driver for windows 7 64 bit installation. You should make it eaier for new owner to recognize that this unit has to find the 64 bit drive installation.
The perfect mashine for my needs - to scan 35 mm slides as well as 120 film slides of diffent formats. Does a very good job nearly all the time - sometimes the film seems to need repositioning to get proper focusing. The price is great - a higher priced unit would probably not be as slow and awkward to operate - but that seems to be the only weakness that I am aware of. In the end you know you have a great scan done with a low priced mashine!
Installing the software and getting everything up and running was a real no-brainer; could not have been easier. Also, after scanning just a few slides and photos, I had mastered all the techniques needed to produce outstanding results. I have a powerful PC, but was, nevertheless, impressed by the speed of the machine. My earlier effort in scanning film was a disaster, even with a decent PC.
WOW! Just finished setting up the scanner and scanned my first photo ever. How simple! Beautiful results! Can it be this easy? I'm a mom and have lots of old photos to scan. This is much easier and faster than I expected.
I bought the Epson V500 because I want to get my older photos stored digitally for ease of access. I was able to plug it in and go! My first project was making a slide show for my Mother's 80th birthday. Old photos, new photos--I was able to scan them easily. I am excited to learn what all I can do with the Epson.
