It works great, but what I really like is there is no warm up time.

Hardware and software, installation a breeze. Couple of scans and presto! Read all the models reviews at place I purchased and at Epson.com. Hope I made the right decision. Will use it to put old photo online/CD. Would give 5 stars if it had an actual user guide?

V500 Photo Scanner

I have used the Epson Perfection 2450 Photo Scanner for several years with the Epson Smart Panel Software and liked it fine. I upgraded scanner but Software does not in my opion match ease of application of the Smart Panel. Is there a version of the Smart panel that will work with the V500 on Vista?

Great Scanner

I bought this scanner to scan old pictures and negatives for genealogy records. It does a great job on scanning old pictures (both black and white and color). Scanning negatives is very slow but the end product is quite usable. The product description said that it shipped with Photoshop Elements (but did not say which version). The version that I received was version 6. Version 6 is at least 4 years old. Version 9 was released late 2010.
I would recommend this to a friend!

AWESOME SCANNER

I bought this scanner to digitalize old slides. Not only does this do an exceptional job with the slides, it makes these pictures look like they were taken yesterday and they were taken 50 years ago. Now I have these preserved for another 50 years. The negative scanner however did not perform to my expectations but I'm still learning how to operate it. I would recommend this scanner over any others in the same price category.
