I have a lot of gum issues and used string floss, sonicare toothbrush, and bottle brushes. Following gum surgery, my periodontist recommended the waterpik. It is fantastic, and beats string floss anyway! I have now incorporated the waterpik into my hygiene routine.
I bought the Waterpik WP-112W model. The waterpik is in a nice satin black color. I have been flossing for years. Due to the two different recommendations from my dentist I bought a waterpik. I am very pleased. The waterpik cleans so much better than I was doing with floss. I am hoping that the dentist can see the difference the next time I see him. Very happy with my purchase. I have had the waterpik only two weeks at this time so I hope that it continues operating as well as it does now. I am referring to some reviews I read before purchasing that indicated that the unit will leak. So far so good, no leaks.
My dentist recommended the water pik because my gums were getting sensitive to the touch of flossing. After a couple of weeks one of my crowns came off. When I went back for him to replace it, he told me my gums were looking nice and healthy and pink. I will continue to use the water pik and recommend it to others.
I have my new water pic for about 3 weeks. My old water pic kept breaking tips when I took them in and out. The new system doesn't reqiure that the tips be removed after use and the handle stores in a handy rack on the front of the machine. I find the cord to be a little short but I like the way it recoils into a storage area. I like the extra tips that come with the unit and it works flawlessly.
I bought it a few weeks ago. Purchased because of a problem with my hand dexterity because of MS. It does a fantastic job of flossing--a lot better than I do using dental floss.
