I bought this about 3 weeks ago and really feel it's getting my teeth cleaner. Have a few bridges and it really cleans underneath them. A couple of complaints though. The switch to turn it on is very hard to turn on. And as much as I try the water goes all over I've watched the videos but still can't use it without making a mess.
Since using a water pic flosser, I notice a distinct difference in my gum health and tooth cleanliness. My dentist noticed the difference as well! I tried a hand held rechargeable, but it broke quickly.
Growing up I had a Waterpik when I had braces it was a necessity. I didn't really think I needed one until I had to have a bridge. Using floss with a floss threader made brushing and flossing a real pain. Therefore, I purchased a Waterpik and I love the way it makes my mouth feel clean!!
I really like my new water pik, especially the control know to adjust flow. I just wish the cord was longer or hose I mean, by an extra foot would be nice, that's it's only downside. Otherwise perfect little unit.
After going through several of the rechargeable cordless Waterpik models, their battery life was only about 1.5 years. I got tired of throwing away perfectly good Waterpiks because of cheap NiCd batteries. So I bought this model and loved it. It is lighter to hold, easy to use (I just fill it with a glass for each quadrant section of my teeth), it has a lot of flushing power (I use setting 8). And does a wonderful job. This one is our second one, bought for my wife. You do not need any other features or controls, this model works great. Switch easy to reach. When through I drain the tank out and wipe it dry with a tissue (being careful not to leave any pieces of tissue which might clog up the pump). Wish I'd bought this model instead of the cordless models from the start. Great for us senior who need to clean out the gaps from our receded gums which regular floss and brushing does not do. My dentist says I keep my teeth wonderfully clean, and this is a big reason for that.
We're a large family of eight. So far, using once daily for a little over a month it's holding up well. Performing Perfectly! The kids (3 with braces) LOVE the ease of "flossing" now. And I'm in love with the "Fresh from the Dentist" way my mouth feels after using it. So, for now... a few weeks of ownership... It's AWESOME! We'll have to wait and see how long the motor lasts. Ask me to rate this again in 6-12months ;)
