I tried the Waterpik handheld, rechargeable unit, which I did not like. (Very small water chamber, clumsy, cumbersome.) Pros: very adequate water chamber; multiple piks with storage area self-contained; good pressure; good "memory" to the coil so that it easily packs back into at-rest pocket. Con: fairly noisy.
Bought this couple weeks ago … it's okay, but the switch in the sprayer part is hard to turn on and off

This is my 3rd waterpik. Each of the previous models lasted about 4 years before they no longer function effectively. On the most recent model, the hose cracked and broke rendering the unit useless. Durability aside, the waterpik is effective at removing food from between teeth.

Years ago, after experiencing some gum challenges, on the advice of my dentist, I bought a Waterpic and an electric toothbrush. Since then, I've had no gum problems and very few cavities. In my opinion, the Waterpic is better than floss in that it gets below the gum line and floss does not.
